I have the exact opposite problem. I can't get auto-steal to stay off regardless of what I've done. So far the most extreme thing I've done is clear the variables for this add-on and disabled all other add-on's without any change. I'll turn it off and as soon as I steal something while sneaking it turns itself back on.

hi, is there any way to disable this? the option to show the status does just that - it shows if auto-steal is enabled or not. but it doesn't disable this feature. I never want to auto-loot stolen items, whether in sneak mode or not. and would be happy if I could change this back. love this addon otherwise.

I didn't even update it, this is the first time I'm trying to use it... I discovered the addon today.

I presume you opened the container? :)
I have noticed that ESO is occasionally bugged where I'm alone in a room or on a balcony and yet the eye reticule is wide open - indicating that I am detected....

So the addon is not supposed to do automatic stealing then? You might want to alter the description page then, because "Smart auto-looting of stolen items" implies it does.
The addon does do auto-stealing.

Could you add an option to disable the fence/backpack warnings? I have other addon for the latter for example, and the notification sound is annoying.
Also, for consistency's sake, could you have the toolbar icons make the same colour as their settings? In addon settings the icons are grey/white, but they are red on the toolbar....
