Re: Re: Re: Re: Character Status Change Request
What still stinks about it is that I actually have to log onto them again to go into the settings to turn on "enable tracking" if I ever want to see their learned/unlearned information. What if I just want to check for one recipe, once a month? You know what I'm saying? I don't want to see their names in the tooltips 100% of the time, but it'd be nice to toggle them back on without having to log out of my current character, switch to that other character in question, turn back on their setting and go through yet another (3rd) loading screen [since turning it to ON makes it automatically reload the UI]. Then log out, log back in to the initial character, and check the tooltip of the recipe. Potentially 5 loading screens just to see if an alt knows a recipe. Or, have to take the time to travel to a bank, put the recipe in the bank, and maybe save myself from 5 total loading screens and only go through 3-4 instead. Ugh. That's a lot of work. I imagine you could add a setting that let us choose if we kept that "memory bloat". Yet another toggle. "Keep ON if you want MRL to remember alts you don't wish to always see. (Warning: Can cause memory bloat. Turn OFF to increase MRL's performance.)" Something like that? Then people have the option of keeping the memory of hidden alts (easy-mode), or deleting it if that character is turned OFF (loading-screens-of-death-mode). Anyway, sorry for the huge wall of text. Just trying to explain myself a bit further to try to help you understand my dilemma. Thanks for the cool addon and the work you've put in to it.

Re: Re: Re: Character Status Change Request
[quote=amber1019]
Remembering their data when not showing them in the tooltips makes no sense, as re-enabling tracking (to show them in tooltips again) automatically reads all their known recipes instantly. If they are not tracking their data is not being used at all by the addon and thus keeping it serves no purpose other than to bloat your LUA memory with unnecessary information. Re: errors - Should have a fix/update posted later today. |

Re: Re: Character Status Change Request
Plus, the way I talked about would preferably remember everything the character knows without having to log in to them again. It would just be a way to toggle on and off the names in the tooltips.

I'm definitely getting the same error as below; it's triggered on mouseover of armor, and seems to be breaking my deconstruction screen.

Re: Character Status Change Request
Also re: errors... I logged in briefly to get some event tickets earlier but don't really have much time otherwise in-game lately. If anyone else is getting errors I will try and look into it. At the least I will do a revision bump ASAP to avoid out-of-date status, but I didn't see any errors in my (admittedly brief) time logged in.

Character Status Change Request
It would be great to instead of having to turn off "Character Status" on each character we don't want to see info for, the addon had an enable/disable list of all of our characters, and we could enable or disable their information displaying in recipe tooltips. It would be an account-wide saved list that you could change while on any character.
There are characters I haven't played in months that I don't really need to see information for. But, it's really inconvenient to use the "character status" settings the way it is now. It would be great to have a list with all of our characters that could be turned "on" and "off" as needed. For example, how Harven's Trait And Style does its settings. If you could implement something like that, it would be great for people with tons of alts like me. |

About the mentioned "feature" phpones wrote about:
I think you cannot change this behaviour! As the marks are applied on inventory open/new items they will be scanned, determined as unknown and reapplied again. As FCOIS refreshes the inventory if you mark/unmark something in order to let you see the new texture of the marker control it will be re-applied (after removing) on this refresh. And if not on this on the next then, or the next login, inventory open, etc. Same with FCOIS automatic markers for set parts, etc. If you want to be able to remove automatic markes you need to disable them. There is no other possibility except implementing something like a "whitelist" in FCOIS where other addons can register that they exist and do automatic marks and which marker icon they are using for it. And then add the items you remove manually to this whitelist so FCOIS knows they won't be re-applied next time, if the other addon tries to. But you need to keep track of this whitelist on your own then and delete/clear it by times etc. So it's r eally difficult and not easy to implement at all. And this is totally against the idea of the automatic protection markers as well and imo it does not make sense.

Hey Phinix,
There might be a bug in the integration with FCO ItemSaver here. If you set the option to lock the recipe if the recipe is unkown, it becomes impossible to unlock it, so you can never learn the recipe. Baertram thinks that when FCO tries to remove the lock (because the user asked to), another addon was putting the lock back in, and that's ESO Master Recipe List. While I can see adding a lock as a feature, being impossible to unlock it I see it as a bug. More info on my coments on FCO ItemSaver: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/file...d=630#comments Thanks! |

Hi,
Any chance you could add an option to preview furniture from the right-click context menu when viewing furniture recipes in your inventory? ItemPreview used to do this but sadly it's been discontinued. Your addon is the closest thing I could find to replace it but I miss being able to preview the recipes I got directly from my inventory. Thanks April |

global profile
this addon is invaluable to me! Thank you for all the hard work
a humble request: is there a way to implement a global profile option for recipe tracking? Since many updates require all character log-ins, it is incredibly time-consuming to go back and mark every single tracked recipe for those of us who have waaay too many alts |
