PLEASE HELP! I've still been dealing with my 28 year old brother passing and now my father is in the hospital with a major stroke that has paralyzed his entire left side. My disability was reduced to $629 recently, and trying to make it between home and where he is (about 100 miles one-way) is tough. I need to be with him though. If there is anything you can do to help it would mean a lot. (6-19-24) |

Thank you for the information. The fix (/mrl update) worked; I double checked recipes that caused the UI Error earlier and everything is now working smoothly! Appreciate the quick response!

doesn't happen all or even majority of times, but sometimes, when you click to learn recipe in stack - it won't be noted as learned until next login or reloadui. but what I've found is if you slow down how fast you click from 1 recipe to the next, it never fails. Like about a 1.5 sec count or enough time to see the floating screen message saying learned that recipe before clicking the next. basically, seems to only happen if you click too fast between 1 stack to the next. not sure if this is a bug or just overall game issue with not taking update if spammed too fast. I'd go with the latter |

I just realized I left only showing known on as the default which was for debug purposes, so sorry about that! But you can easily toggle it off. Also I re-uploaded with both options defaulted off just in case other people have this issue and don't know about the toggles. |

recipes seem to be doubling up every single time i use a wayshrine/port and the recipes i've tracked somehow also untrack themselves

I wonder if you could do me a favor and edit your post to remove the image? I deleted some in the past but don't like to do that really, but I have a really slow internet connection and view the page frequently, and I only seem to have the ability to delete other people's posts not edit them myself. So, the main issue was that the addon was doing a minimal re-initialization on each load event when really it only needed to build the table structure once on login. This has been corrected, and the main table structure is only set up once per session, which should also speed up zone changes a little. There was another issue with an API function that had a different behavior than expected. Inside a loop like this for example: Code:
for recipeListIndex = 1, GetNumRecipeLists() do -- populate the recipe list index local _, numRecipes = GetRecipeListInfo(recipeListIndex) for recipeIndex = 1, numRecipes do local known, recipeName = GetRecipeInfo(recipeListIndex, recipeIndex) -- this returns the name even if you don't know the recipe if known then -- only process known recipes local itemLink = GetRecipeResultItemLink(recipeListIndex, recipeIndex) -- NOTE: this returns "" for recipes you don't know! In theory it shouldn't matter since the recipes you knew were still getting the correct recipe index set and the cooking station only shows recipes you know, so everything should have been working. This way is much faster however as it only needs to process recipes that actually matter to save.

with last few versions of this addon ive noticed recipe tooltip when using craft station now in left upper corner
and every time i need drag it to the middle where it was before can you fix this pls? |

Error after Update 26 installation
Since the launch of Update 26 the addon has stopped working for me. I have already installed all the latest updates for the addon that have been released, but it did not resolve the issue. When the inventory is opened, it causes the above error. After this error, the entire UI of the game disappears, it is necessary to exit and re-enter the game to return to normal. If I deactivate the Master Recipe addon, the inventory and the game work normally. I have already followed the error correction instructions but it did not solve the problem.

Sorry to hear you are having addon struggles after the patch, I know the song in many variations! Background...

However in this case, I do not believe it is actually MRL causing the error. It is not uncommon for another addon to actually cause the error due to some shared hook, then cause all addons that load after it to also crash when that function fails. Unfortunately there is no specific information to go by in the error other than a generic indication that something hooking the scene fragment bar is causing the issue.
It is possible that MRL seems to cause the error because disabling it makes it go away, however this is likely because MRL is activating the bad code and eventually even without it loaded the actual addon responsible will do something that calls the bad code itself and cause the error or something like it. These are tough to troubleshoot as again, no specifics. I know you have no reason to believe me but I do crafting writs on 17 characters every day which includes looting tons of recipes and have never had this error nor am I able to reproduce it. All that said there are some things we can do to start to troubleshoot. None are particularly fun. I would actually begin with the "Reset Instructions" section,. which guides you through manually deleting the entire MRL folder, the saved variables for it, and re-installing from scratch. This will eliminate a corrupted install (which happens occasionally due to sync or other issues with minion, file permissions, etc.). It will also give you a clean slate from which to test if it doesn't fix the problem. After that if problems persist the next step is to disable ALL addons temporarily except MRL and its libraries and then re-enable them a few at a time, reloading the UI each time, and trying to produce the error. When it comes back you found the culprit! I sincerely hope you get it sorted out. If there is anything else I can do on my end, or if a more specific error referencing Master Recipe List crops up, I will gladly take a look!

Hello Phinix. I did the whole process of uninstalling the addon and deleting the saved variables, and everything went back to normal for about 2 hours. I was in a Public Dungeon and suddenly I opened the inventory to see an item and there was an error again in the Master Recipe addon (image above). The message is different, I believe it is due to some new item that I got from the loot and that is giving a problem in Master Recipe when he tries to customize the icon of that item in the inventory. The problem is that when it gives an error it drops the entire UI, I need to use the /reloadui command and then disable the addon and use /reloadui again in order to continue playing. |
