Based off of the original ZrMM by Zerorez. Will be updating with fixes and features as time allows.

function ZrMM_RegisterCustomPin(pinType, name) - pinType:Number(custom pinType), name:string(friendly name)

function ZrMM_UnregisterCustomPin(pinType) - pinType:Number(custom pinType)

function ZrMM_ExcludePinType(pinType, exclude) - pinType:Number(custom pinType), exclude:Boolean(true to exclude it from the minimap, false to include)

Current feature set:
  • Resizeable and moveable minimap.
  • Supports zoom in/out VIA keybind or settings panel
  • Toggle visibility VIA keybind
  • Supports displaying worldmap pins(filter and color options carry over)
  • Supports Group Member real time location in same zone
  • Configurable anchor position for zoom and zone label
  • Configurable color text for zoom and zone label

These global functions can be used by addon devs to tell ZrMM to not display certain custom pintypes. The register and unregister functions only add to a list currently that I may or may not add configurable options in the minimap itself to toggle visibility. For now ZrMM_ExcludePinType is the method to hide pins.

As you can see there is a huge difference. It's a small problem, but significant enough to be an issue especially if you open the main map a lot while on the run like I do. Also not good to have happen to you in Cyrodil!

Sorry for multiple videos, fraps did not want to do just one video. I don't get it.
Well that's just horrible. Does it only occur when showing the map after it's hidden? Does it matter if it's shown after say character or inventory was open instead of world map?

yep. does it after character or inventory or friends, pretty much anything that manipulates the screen and hides the map. not just the big map. will take more videos if you want let me know btw you have done amazing with this addon! I do love it!!

Does it happen while sitting idle with minimap open? or even moving around in the zone? Or is it only when the map is shown?

while idle it runs perfectly for the most part except sometimes it will do it when running where there is to be a quest objective update, but i get a little laggy with those without the addon, it is just a bit more amplified.

bookshelves do it too (but again, that closes minimap if i recall correctly)

so yea while the minimap is shown and running about it it seems to run pretty smoothly, it is just when you use other bits of the interface that it messes up from what I am noticing and it has not always been like this. one of the later updates did it

Did you apply a patch today? It seems to be running a bit smoother. I was going to try to replicate the hitch/freeze on fraps (with it running smooth standalone vs opening friends, bags etc) and upload to youtube for you and it is not wanting to do it.

I got a patch on minion (but I have to force minion to patch manually and it patches so fast I can never tell what is being patched unless there are multiple patches.)

Anyways, it isn't wanting to do it for me now. Which is good news. The only thing I have done differently is repaired my ESO client. Perhaps this is a client issue with ESO? When I logged in today it said I had an invalid client version and would not let me log in until I fixed it.

I notice it now but it is like half a second. Not even worth keeping turned off. Will keep you posted if it becomes a problem but I am starting to think perhaps this is a buggy client messing with the AddOn since not everyone is experiencing it.

Alright so I get a very small, even barely noticeable, hitch when the minimap is shown. There is not much I can do about that. As you said it's not that large of a hitch anyways. Also the fact that this doesn't commonly happen while the minimap is already on screen adds doubt that it is something this addon is doing directly. The update pin function runs every .5 seconds. So if the pins are causing the issue then it would hitch every half second while laying idle with minimap open. I think the current version uploaded actually will do the pinupdate twice in a row upon showing, but that shouldn't cause the hitch you're seeing.

Also all that really happens when the map is hidden and shown after initial load is toggle visibility on controls. There is nothing new to create.

The pinupdate creates pins if the minimap doesn't already have them, but after the first update it should have them, then it just loops through and updates the minimaps copies position and color and the such. So it's hard to understand that anything it does is causing an issue when a quest pin is udpated.

In the end if repairing your client has resolved your problem it was possibly something on eso's end. Like how the addons freak out and don't save the variables in the proper structure, then all of a sudden start saving properly again.

Yea, I am running it fully now and it is not noticeable enough to be a problem. I plan to fully uninstall and re-install the client on Sunday when we go out for Easter. I am converted over from Beta and something could of got messed up during the transition from beta to live.

Anyways, I appreciate the responses I will post and let you know sometime maybe Monday if it is completely resolved. I can handle small little lags. I am really convinced it is my client now.

Just an update, I was able to uninstall completely and re-install and I think that fixed my problems. I still notice a very small hitch but it is like you described and it is nothing like before. My game now shows something new on the AddOn menu: "For All Characters" I did not have that before! So, glad I re-installed. I also did not have an uninstaller for my client. I had a very old beta that patched over to the new client and I think I had a lot of bugs with not only AddOns but game as well.

I mean, I logged in once and was stuck up in the clouds and saw a box at my feet that said "missing data" or something like that. I submitted a ticket but they were of no help. So, last night I just decided to let the comp stay on and re-install the whole game. Revo Uninstaller didn't even recognize that I had it installed. So, I had to manually delete folders and fix registry errors. Was kind of complicated. But the game seems to be running better.

Hope this helps anyone who may or may not be having client issues like I was. If you patched to live from very early beta (without having played much in between) there is a chance your game is bugged.

anyways, addon works now. all is well! sorry for the rambles!

Pretty sure I have a fix for the Cyrodiil ava pins not updating until map is opened/closed. Also have a fix for map not updating while in multifloor area. Will do so more testing with it and get a version submitted soon.

*edit*
Just noticed some sort of blob(white quest area but not quest) in Cyrodiil. The size isn't being scaled properly. They also don't appear to last long, so I'll look into that if I can find them.

I also get the hitching problem after closing any UI window. Basically makes the game unplayable for me. i7 4930 @ 4.5ghz, GTX660ti, 16gb DD3 PC1600 ram, 256gb SSD. Definitely not my PC. Tried deleting savedvariables folder, disabling all other addons, etc.

Feature request

Is there a reason bug and feature options are turned off for this addon, it would be impossible to see what has been requested as it is. Anyway the real request would be an option to make the harvest map pins smaller or to use the settings from the main map. I like these to be less obtrusive. Thanks

Is there any way you can make it so I can use the minimap on the top right corner of the screen and have the quest tracker move down below the minimap. Similar to Wykkyd's Frameworks where the compass moves down when you position the toolbar on the top center of the screen.

You can move the minimap where you want it, if you want to move the quest tracker you will need one that moves. There are serveral.

did you move over from beta to live? if so you might want to try reinstalling the game one night. i uninstalled and re-installed one night and after that my game worked flawlessly. there is a small hitch but it is not unplayable anymore. seems there is something wrong with the client. try that first. i also have an i7 with lots of ram (14gb) and did all the things you did as well as far as deleting savedvariables.

when I uninstalled, I removed the game with the beta uninstaller, then had to manually delete the folder as it did not have it's own uninstaller. then i ran a "free windows registry repair"

re-installed and let it patch itself overnight. and now everything works fine. I was also having a ton of bugs not related to just this addon that kept causing me to client crash. so it was worth it. might be worth a shot if you don't mind doing it and can do it while you sleep.
