Is there any chance there will be a version of Khajiit Speak that auto translates things you say in chat?

Got the same bug as the guy above. Missions name was The Flooded Grove. The text it seems it isn't able to show is "Herma-Mora?".

Re: WARNING!!! MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS IN STONEFALLS
No worries if not, I should be able to reproduce it from the error log. |

WARNING!!! MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS IN STONEFALLS
Hi,
I'm getting an error that prevents me from progression on the quest "Sadal's Final Defeat" - Talk to Tanval's Spirit. No options show up on the npc at all. I have to turn the mod off to progress. |

Superb, this one is happy, yes?
No issue encountered so far, great job indeed. It does improve the immersion. |

The main problem is that there isn't really an accepted format for it. Sometimes they're spaced, sometimes not. Sometimes there's one hyphen, sometimes two, sometimes three. It's an annoying thing to parse. I've added it to my todo list though, I'll hopefully have it fixed sometime soon.
The next version is all but done, going to give it a bit more time in testing just to make sure. Should be out sometime tonight. |

Yeah, some of that stuff seems to be result of older version. As for 'outputting complete gibberish', here's some stuff to chew on:
1. 'Yes?' is not to be randomly added to the end of otherwise legitimate questions, here's why: Thing is, Khajits quite capable of asking 'normal' questions, especially after they become more familiar with interlocutor; plus enlarging short questions tends to interrupt flow of conversation. This is by no means universal rule - questions are rather tricky and best be edited on case-to-case basis, but it's the large ones that tend to fall in 'would like to know more' category (usually at the end of conversation, after or right before the quest is received). 'Proper' use of 'yes?' and 'no?' is in simple statements, such as when Khajiit guesses following events/result or wants to be sure of something he/she already knows (including interlocutor's knowledge/opinion on the subject). I'd say these two are good enough examples of doing it 'the proper way', but the word order is messed up, and, since pattern is somewhat similar, I'd say it's this addon's fault: 2. While I won't pretend to perfectly know non-native language, I think that 'this one' is best to be used in impersonal statements. It's just that something about 'this one' being 'he' or 'she' rubs me the wrong way, figuratively speaking. 3. Can't really place it, but this reply is messed up (worst I encountered so far): 4. 'Is peased to say yes' doesn't work everywhere: 'Uh... yes?' would make more sense, really.

At the moment all three pronoun types have equal chance across the board. Detecting the tone of the sentence based on some commonly recurring words and modifying the chance of each pronoun based on that is something that I've got my sights set on in the future. It will probably have a list of warm words and a list of colder words that it will use to generate a weight for the line to choose the pronoun against. Warmer sentences will have a high chance of "[Name]" and a low chance of "This One". Cold sentences would be "Khajiit" or "This One", again at a lower chance. Neutral sentences would be a high chance of "This One" and a low chance of either of the other two. However, at the moment my main focus is on getting it grammatically stable and making the fluff insertions less intrusive. You seeing 'Indulge x...' more often than the others is just bad luck at the moment, I'm afraid. As I've only seen that one about three times in my whole time playing. As the randomization is seeded from the original line, you must have bumped into a lot of NPCs with dialog options that happen to have perfect seeds for generating that line of fluff. Again, another future feature I'm thinking about is a more global tracking of things that have already been used. Checking against recently used fluff text will help in stopping them from appearing too often. The only problem with this is that I'm purposely trying to code it in such a way that the lines are always converted in exactly the same way. It would annoy me if I were to close a dialog only to find that the generation is totally different when I re-open it. So with that considered, I'm not entirely sure that this feature would be possible without messing that ideal up. Since global tracking would carry over from other conversations, so the generation would change based on the order in which you talked to the NPCs. Either way it's something I'm pondering on. One thing that is definitely on the cards is that I'm going to separate the fluff into shorter less intrusive inserts, and the longer ones that stand out more when repeated. The longer list would then have far stricter matching parameters, and a chance to fail even if they do pass. This would hopefully make them less repetitive. I'm going to start working on this feature after version 0.48 is released, since so far 0.48 is looking to be the most stable. I'd be happy to have people running around with 0.48 while I work on the less necessary features. As for the "Sheogorath"; these are things I hadn't actually accounted for yet. Mainly as I've not stumbled across them. In future I'll probably start adding lists of general things to be blanket replaced, such as names of deities and what-not. I'll probably start working on that once the next version is out (which is mainly huge grammatical improvements,) as it wouldn't be that hard to do. TL;DR Once I'm satisfied that the addon isn't outputting complete gibberish for people, I'm going to start working on making it more intelligent about what it chooses. Rather than just being a complete randomization engine. Apologies for the wall of text there, I was mainly thankful for the opportunity to get some of my thoughts for future expansion down before I forget them. xD Unfortunately, I'm not going to get much done today. Damn Easter drinking! |

Nice little mod, but with most responses featuring 'Khajiit', I think you got priorities a bit wrong:
- most of the time, Khajiits would refer to themselves by their name as your standard friendly/introductionary response, and when their name is already known anyway; - 'This one' is more neutral, and used when saying your name is unnecessary/unwise (like overuse of the same word), but overall just as fine; - 'Khajiit' is more suited for a neutral/hostile responses, generally for the moments one would say 'Hey, I'm a cat, remember?', including not-so-hostile discussions of religion and other race-specific hooey. So, more names, less Khajiits, please? As I understand, this addon randomly modifies 'standard' phrases (sometimes with strange results) and you can set that ratio, right? Oh, and I'm pretty sure I've seen Sheogorath instead of Sheggorath in dialogue response (with latter being proper) - just a fluff, but still. PS and before I forget: '[this one] is curious/wonders/needs to know' seems better than 'indulge [this one]' (with latter seems a bit overused, or maybe it's 'typical' random on my part, or older versions); it's just that I'm of the opinion that the more Khajiit-centric the sentence is ('I want something done', instead of 'would you do something'), the better.

Minor misspelling
In the conversation with Master Altien during the Pariah Abbey questlines, it comes up as "Hhow is Abbot Durak" as the 1st dialogue choice. I don't know if this is an error from your addon or their script but thought I'd point it out if it's correctable.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: found an error in dialog.
The second one, however. I'm not entirely sure what's happened there, definitely the most messed up line I've seen so far. I'll have to look into that more deeply, try to reproduce it. Again, I'll aim to have it fixed in 0.48. -Edit Ah, I've deciphered it. Was most likely "The one I spoke to on my way into town~" I'll look into it shortly, busy busy busy. xD -Edit Again After some tweaking 0.48 now outputs this: "Indulge Khajiit. The one he spoke to on his way into town mentioned you have some kind of problem?" I've still got some more to do on contractions in this version though, so it probably won't be out tonight.
