Guild: Eternal Defiance

Range Reticle modifies the targeting reticle to add the distance to the highlighted target in meters. It also displays the name and level/veteran rank of the target above the reticle.

The color of the reticle changes depending on friend/foe and the range to the target (Out of Range, In Range, In Melee Range).

All features can be configured in the Settings menu (including colors).

New range formula! It's still being tested, but so far it seems to be more consistent.

If you have a feature request or run into a bug, please comment. Also, if you find a zone where the range calculation is wrong (or missing), please let me know!

If you wish to contribute and are familiar with Lua/Git, please send me a PM.

Suggestion: increase range adjustment

I love this addon but the range only goes up to 60m

My Poison Bow skill has a range of 28m but in game it shows target in range at 69m.
If you adjusted your range to go higher than 60m, say up to 80m or 90m, then I could just calibrate it in game.

All I have to do is move closer or away from a target until the skill on the hotbar lights up and note the in game range. Right now that is 69m even though the skill says it has a 28m range.

That would allow the user to calibrate the range to whatever range lights up the skill on the hotbar. So if the range changes per zone or whatever, it doesn't matter since the player can easily calibrate the current range.

But now your range maxes out at 60m, since most ranged skills seem to be around 70m in game your max distance falls short.

Hi,

I like this addon but the range it shows is different than the skill tooltips.

For example Templar skill Binding javelin says 20m, but the maximum range on which I can cast it by this addon is 37m!
For 28m skills the addon shows 52m!

This should be fixed.

Edit:
after relog,m the difference is just 3m, Binding javelin 20m - reticle shows 23m, other 28m range attacks - reticle shows 31m

Error message

Hello!

Today I got an error message about your addon and the addon itself has stopped working.

Is this something that I can fix myself?
Am attaching a screenshot so you can see for yourself.

The area was "The Cave of Trophies" in Coldharbor.

Edit: Also Mal Sorra's Tomb

Edit 2: Also the Manor of Revelry (interior portion) has the opposite problem. The addon reports numbers that are smaller than the actual distance.

Honestly it's just most areas in Coldharbor. The exterior overworld area seems to have some issues at times too (like reporting 17m when I know it's 20m because of Snipe).

Can you tell me which zones/dungeons you were in when you had this issue? Then I can go there and figure out what I need to update the distance calculations.

I've added this to my list as well, but as you say it would be the same functionality as Rainbow Reticle. I can add it to mine, but I don't want to 'step on' someone else's addon.

I've added this to the list, but it won't be in the next update. It shouldn't be too hard, I just have to toggle them to be moveable and add a lock/unlock setting.

As for the range being slightly off, I'm continually working on tweaking the calculation. Unfortunately, ESO has different coordinate values for different map types and zones, so it's not easy. I've gotten it to be within a meter or two for most areas, but there's still some that are definitely not right.

I don't speak French, but hopefully Google Translate can work for us. I'll reply in both English and French, and hopefully one of them will be understandable.

The life bar you are referencing is not part of the addon, but is an game option that you can enable in the Settings. I do not remember exactly where in the settings, but I know you have to change a few settings from 'Only When Injured' to 'Always Show'.

La barre de vie, vous faites référence ne fait pas partie de l'addon, mais est une option de jeu que vous pouvez activer dans les paramètres. Je ne me souviens pas exactement où dans les paramètres, mais je sais que vous devez modifier quelques paramètres de "Only When blessé» à «Toujours afficher '.
