AlphaGear 2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 6.9.1
by: mesota [More]
Anything you need to manage your skills and gear.
I've adopted this great AddOn from AlphaLemming and changed the name to "AlphaGear 2" for the version that I maintain.

AlphaGear 2 lets you create up to 20 profiles each with 16 builds that may be activated with a single button press. Each build consists of
  • 7 pieces of armor
  • 3 pieces of jewelry
  • 2 weapon bars including poison
  • 2 skill bars
  • 1 outfit or
  • 1 style (outfit, costume, pet etc. using AlphaStyle integration) (optional)
  • 1 FCO Item Saver gear icon (optional)
  • 1 Champion Point Set using Champion Points Slots add-on (optional)

Now available: Integrations!

Breaking Changes
  • If you use poison, you'd have to reassign the right type of poison from your bag.

Known Issues
  • Updating a version prior 6.x with minion doesn't seem to work. Workaround: Delete the .../AddOns/AlphaGear directory and reinstall AlphaGear 2. Don't delete anything from .../SavedVariables. AlphaGear 2 will reuse your already created sets.

AlphaGear 2 Version Numbers

I use the following semantics for AlpahGear 2 version numbers:
<Major>.<Minor>.<Patch> <Qualifier>

Major: Always "6" for the branch that I maintain
Minor: Increases with every new ESO version:
  • 3.1 (Horns of the Reach) = "0"
  • 3.2 (Clockwork City) = "1"
  • 3.3 (Dragon Bones) = "2"
  • 4.0 (Summerset) = "3"
  • 4.1 (Wolfhunter) = "4"
  • 4.2 (Murkmire) = "5"
  • 4.3 (Wrathstone) = "6"
  • 5.0.5 (Elsweyr) = "7"
  • 5.1.5 (Scalebreaker) = "8"
  • 5.2.5 (Dragonhold) = "9"

Patch: Increases with every fixed bug or enhancement within a minor version.
Qualifier: Arbitrary labels like "alpha", "beta" to indicate a version which is not ready for production ;).

Alright, it appears it's an issue on 6.6.0 beta1 as well.

Edit: It's also randomly not depositing certain sets entirely. Draugr is the main one I'm having issues with currently, along with Relequen. I'll keep trying sets to see if it's widespread.

Edit 2: Full gold Fury jewelry is depositing correctly.

Edit 3: Tried a set of Fury+Clever Alchemist+Bloodspawn all together, it wouldn't deposit the hands, waist and sabatons, along with the gold Fury jewelry from the previous test.

There are rumors that there is a bug in ESO: when you leave a BG your character sometimes remains in "in combat" mode. When this happens, AG consequently fails to set the new skills. In beta 2 I've added this error message. Prior beta 2 it just failed silently and you might have had an unpleasant surprise in the next encounter...

Can you see a pattern when this happens?
Did it happen just after leaving a BG?
Anything else, like: BG timer elapsed when in combat...
Any hint highly appreciated.

Re: Re:

Yes, this option is enabled. And it works - until I change the gear. Then the display of the equipped build disappears. I have this issue on two different PC's... - and I have already uninstalled and re-installed the addon. No one else? strange.....

Latest version, unfortunately I didn't know about the feature until that day haha. I will temporarily downgrade though and let you know.

Thanks for your analysis!

I'll add your code/ideas to AG. Sometimes it really helps if someone has an unbiased look at the code.
I'd be glad if I can get rid of that delay.

I got some complaints that gear wasn't equipped correctly and the only (reproducible) cause is not enough delay between equipitem() calls. I wonder if there is a better solution and how the minimum delay depends on other addons or the hardware. In this release I've chosen reliability over speed. I guess I'll make it configurable. For now, feel free to change it as you like. Some feedback on which delay works for you would be appreciated. And if you'd like to do me a favor: test your reduced delay with the "Unequip all" function and report the outcome.

-mesota
Yes, removed the delay entirely and swapping entire gear sets with nearly all skills changed works without issues so far. I coudn't do very extensive testing in trials/dungeons yet, so I don't know it will work all the time. But for the time being I'll leave it at zero.

Per your request I tested manually calling AG.Undress() and AG.Undress(1) and it indeed tends to fail without sufficient delays.
AG.Undress(1) pretty much works with delays > 100ms without issues on my machine.
Now with AG.Undress() it became somewhat interesting. Sometimes it worked without issues (delay > 100ms), sometimes it didn't.
So...? After some additional testing it seems to "break" when you have weapons drawn, so I made sure to sheath weapons first.

Code:
if (jobType == AG.JOB_TYPE_UNEQUIP_GEAR) then
                if not ArePlayerWeaponsSheathed() then
                    TogglePlayerWield()
                    AG.NextEventTime = CurrentTime + 1000
                    return
                end
                mustWait = AG.UnequipItem(param1)
                delay = 100
elseif ...
Edit: Sheathing weapons is only required if you're unequipping weapons I think. Just unequipping body pieces/jewelry didn't cause any issues for me. Tested with AG.Undress(), fists "drawn" and no weapons equipped.

So I tried to test it with withdrawing/depositing sets as well, unfortunately depositing doesn't work at all for me. It says "Moving set X" and an appropriate time with delays later "Done", but it didn't move anything.

Manually depositing and then withdrawing seems to work with a 100ms delay for me as well.

To me it seems that only
  • JOB_TYPE_UNEQUIP_GEAR,
  • JOB_TYPE_WITHDRAW_GEAR,
  • potentially JOB_TYPE_DEPOSIT_GEAR
require a delay, but again... Didn't do super extensive testing with it yet.

I'll be running it with just 100 ms delay for those 3 functions for now. As far as I can tell those three aren't really time critical either and would probably not affect quick swaps between fights when set to use an even longer delay.

Love this addon. I'm really glad you added the deposit/withdraw gear sets option. I've been trying to find something that does that for a pretty long time.

I am having a bit of an issue, though. When I have it deposit a gear set, it'll only deposit one of the rings. Say I have it deposit a set or Relequen or Draugr, which I have 3 jewelry of, it'll deposit only one ring, like it doesn't want to deposit a duplicate item.

"Current Gear Display" disappears

Hi there,

anyone else got the issue, that after a gear-change, the "current-gear-display" disappears? It will be displayed on game-start, but after a change of gear/slot it's gone... and won't come back.

Thank you,
Lucky

I got some complaints that gear wasn't equipped correctly and the only (reproducible) cause is not enough delay between equipitem() calls. I wonder if there is a better solution and how the minimum delay depends on other addons or the hardware. In this release I've chosen reliability over speed. I guess I'll make it configurable. For now, feel free to change it as you like. Some feedback on which delay works for you would be appreciated. And if you'd like to do me a favor: test your reduced delay with the "Unequip all" function and report the outcome.

Code:
if (jobType == AG.JOB_TYPE_UNEQUIP_GEAR) then
                if not ArePlayerWeaponsSheathed() then
                    TogglePlayerWield()
                    AG.NextEventTime = CurrentTime + 1000
                    return
                end
                mustWait = AG.UnequipItem(param1)
                delay = 100
