I've adopted this great AddOn from AlphaLemming and changed the name to "AlphaGear 2" for the version that I maintain.

AlphaGear 2 lets you create up to 20 profiles each with 16 builds that may be activated with a single button press. Each build consists of
  • 7 pieces of armor
  • 3 pieces of jewelry
  • 2 weapon bars including poison
  • 2 skill bars
  • 1 outfit or
  • 1 style (outfit, costume, pet etc. using AlphaStyle integration) (optional)
  • 1 FCO Item Saver gear icon (optional)
  • 1 Champion Point Set using Champion Points Slots add-on (optional)

Please backup your AlphaGear settings prior update!

To users of AlphaGear 3
AG 3 is a branch of AG 2 by another developer. It isn't maintained anymore. If you want to switch back to AG 2, just make a backup of your SavedVariables, uninstall AG 3 and install AG 2.
Your builds will then be available in AG 2.

Use cases
  • Switch between different roles
  • Switch between PvE and PvP environment
  • Create two (or more) builds with the same equipment, but different skill bars to create situational skill setups (solo, group, etc...)

How To...
  • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Execute "/alphagear"
      or
    • Klick on the AG-icon
  • Create a gear set
    • Open the inventory
    • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Find the gear sets in the upper pane
    • Drag gear from the inventory (puppet or bag) and drop it into an AG gear set
      or
    • Shift-Click on a gear set number: all currently equipped items are copied into the set
      or
    • Right-Click on a gear set number to open the context menu
    • Select "paste" or "insert currently equipped" to fill the set
  • Create a skill set
    • Open the skills window
    • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Find the skill sets in the lower right pane
    • Drag a skill from the skills window and drop it into an AG skill set
      or
    • Shift-Click on a skill set number: all currently equipped skills are copied into the set
      or
    • Right-Click on a skill set number to open the context menu
    • Select "paste" or "insert currently equipped" to fill the set
  • Open the build editor
    • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Find the builds in the lower left pane
    • Right-Click on a build number: the build editor is opened
  • Create a build
    • Open the build editor
    • Click on the gear selector: all gear sets in the upper pane are highlighted
    • Select one gear set from the upper pane
    • Click on the skill bar 1 selector: all skill sets in the lower right pane are highlighted
    • Select one skill set from the lower right pane
    • Make sure that the selected skills match the selected weapon
    • Repeat previous steps for skill bar 2
  • Unequip poison
    • Open the build editor
    • Open then build for which poison must be removed
    • Activate the gear lock (make it red)
  • Assign a keybinding to a build
    • Press ESC to open the ESO Menu
    • Open Control/Keybindings
    • Scroll down to the AlphaGear section
    • Assign keys to the builds as needed (e.g. the number pad keys)
  • Rename a build
    • Open the build editor
    • Click in the build name field
    • Edit name as needed
  • Rename a skill bar
    • Open the build editor
    • Click in the skill bar name field
    • Edit name as needed
  • Remove a skill or a gear item from a skill/gear set
    • Open the AlphaGear main window
    • Find the sets in the upper or lower right pane
    • Right-Click on the skill/item to remove it from the set
  • Deposit or withdraw a gear set at/from a bank or home storage
    • Open banking or home storage chest
    • Open AlphaGear main window
    • Find the gear sets in the upper pane
    • Right-Click on the gear set number to open the context menu
    • Select "deposit set" or "withdraw set" as needed

    • Open the build editor

Known Issues
  • Updating a version prior 6.x with minion doesn't seem to work. Workaround: Delete the .../AddOns/AlphaGear directory and reinstall AlphaGear 2. Don't delete anything from .../SavedVariables. AlphaGear 2 will reuse your already created sets.

AlphaGear 2 Version Numbers

I use the following semantics for AlpahGear 2 version numbers:
<Major>.<Minor>.<Patch> <Qualifier>

Major: Always "6" for the branch that I maintain
Minor: Increases with every new ESO version:
  • 3.1 (Horns of the Reach) = "0"
  • 3.2 (Clockwork City) = "1"
  • 3.3 (Dragon Bones) = "2"
  • 4.0 (Summerset) = "3"
  • 4.1 (Wolfhunter) = "4"
  • 4.2 (Murkmire) = "5"
  • 4.3 (Wrathstone) = "6"
  • 5.0 (Elsweyr) = "7"
  • 5.1 (Scalebreaker) = "8"
  • 5.2 (Dragonhold) = "9"
  • 5.3 (Harrowstorm) = "10" (never made it to release)

UI error happened

Today we came to new Nirn!
But when I use it with "Campion Point Slot", I had UI error.
Please check it and fix it or tell the solutions.

Cannot show equipped build on new account

I love AG2! I use it on my older account, and it shows the name of the build I currently have loaded in the top left corner of my screen.

After setting up a 2nd new account I can't get it to show which build I've loaded.

When I switch between accounts, they both have that option set to ON in settings, but only the old account shows it.

I just started looking at the lua file and I'm already confused (am using a copy so I don't mess up the original ).

Anyone know how to fix this?

Wow, AlphaGear is incredible. It's by far the best gear manager. Way better than Dressing Room. Way better than Bandit's Gear Manager. Way better than Wizard's Wardrobe.

Is there any chance of integrating it with the best outfit addon?

There is really nothing better than Quick Fashion. It makes it super fast and easy to create styles and save all details of it.

Maybe integration would be possible by reading the data table of it to get the list of styles, and directly calling its "apply style" function from AlphaGear?

PS: I saw AlphaStyle and it's a valiant effort. But Quick Fashion is the best by faaaar. No other add-ons even come close to how good Quick Fashion is.

Edit: I did some research, it seems very easy and very possible, see my comment on their project here: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/file...=3115#comments, I will be looking into integrating it with AlphaGear and submitting a patch.

Edit 2: I have refactored the AlphaGear plugin system/code, to decouple plug-ins from the main code and make it capable of installing other plug-ins. I'll release the diff of all changes on GitHub when the collaboration with Quick Fashion's author is complete. After that, you can see what has been changed and import the patch here so that people can enjoy it! The changes are good for everyone since they make it easy to write more plug-ins. If you have a GitHub, I can submit it directly as a pull request instead of a patch.

Attention for quickslot related or weapon bar / action button related addons
PTS API101034 High Isle - Most recent changes
All kind of GetSlot* functions for the action- and quickslots have changed their parameters and need a 2nd parameter HOTBAR_CATEGORY_* now to detect the correct abilityId, itemLink, etc.

e.g. GetSlotBoundId(slotNr, HOTBAR_CATEGORY_*) where the hotbar category of the default quickslots would be HOTBAR_CATEGORY_QUICKSLOT_WHEEL and the one for weapon bar 1 would be HOTBAR_CATEGORY_PRIMARY
GetSlotTexure, GetSlotItemLink, GetSlotName, ...

As the parameter HOTBARCategory was "inserted" as 2nd param (if the current 2nd, 3rd, etc params could be nil after the 1st) it might be that your functions have wrong parameters passed in now, so check you code please! Else your passed in variables at param 2 might be a number and define any of the HOTBAR_CATEGORY_* constants "by accident" so that the functions work but provide wrong results!

Sorry- the undress hotkey is only for gear (not weapons nor jewelry). Maybe this should be changed...

HI, thanks for using AlphaGear.

I'm not sure if I get you right. Do you want to switch between (combat gear with outfit 1) and (no gear with an RP appearance)? Do you use AlphaStyle? This is the perfect AddOn in combination with AlphaGear for this case.

Hint: if you want AlphaGear to remove gear (e.g. shoulders) you'd have to lock the build with the padlock-icon.

Hey, have you thought about auto profile change on entering a specifc zone (like a specific trial e.g. Sunspire) and while you enter this zone you change to a preselected profile and switch back to the profile before (or standard) if you are not a a zone where you have selected a specific build?

I can use the main menu popup key but it would be nicer to be able to just use hotkeys each level up to clear the character for the stats screenshots and then just re-quip the saved combat builds.

Recognise Outfit

Heya, really enjoying this so far.

One issue, is that it doesn't seem to recognize when an outfit is on (when saved) as opposed to when it is off and saved.

To clarify, i have my main gear Outfitted to look like another style. Have to choose Outfit 1 to turn on this style to hide my normal armor appearance.

However, when i load in a regular outfit, made with the lvl 1 RP type clothes, it will load them sure, but it will still only show as the Outfit 1, until i go in and select it to 'No Outfit'.

Is there a way, or would there be a way for the addon to respect when an outfit is being used and when not- when the appearance is saved?

Also, whe a regular RP outfit is saved, i will go to click on it, and still have to manually remove things like shoulders, gloves, belt and boots, even if they were not saved in the original outfit.

Save Outfits - AlphaGear 2 + AlphaStyle

Dear mesota,

maybe Iīm an idiot and I canīt find the settings in the add-ons, but if I play with activated AlphaStyle, I canīt save my Outift (Montur) in AlphaGear. With deactivited AlphaStyle I can save it. I hope you know what I mean. BR Medic85
