Hi ShinyBones, I want to report a bug, sometimes when opening the emotes wheel, the wheel won't show up at all and it will break the freelook option of the game, resulting in the character lookin in one direction only (the one he was facing when opening the wheel), and being unable to look around with the mouse. What's even more disturbing is that reloading the UI doesn't fix it, I have to reopen the game... Sometimes this can be fixed by spamming the shortcut I set up for opening the wheel untill it does appear, or by relogging in and trying to open up the wheel, opening the wheel and it appearing this time fixes the lookaround option, but rarely happens, most of the times I have to reopen the game. Hope this will be fixed soon, It's a pretty major deal... Or maybe it's only happening to me, any idea how I can fix this if this is the case? Otherwise, thank you for this addon, it really is awesome, easy to use, and the interface is nice.
Coming with an update... Also... another thing I noticed after getting the lookaround to work without shutting off the game and reopening it (I did it just by relogging on the character, and then the radial wheel opened up) is that for some reason, when moving around, when the character stops, it will instantly turn back to one direction, it will not stop facing the direction I was going, no matter the direction I am going, the character will result in facing the same direction when I stop moving... This makes it hard to interact with resource nodes/quest markers, and often interacting doesn't even work. I made a short clip of this last bug, I can share it with you if you want.

thank you very much for your detailed explanation of the problem. I have tried to reconstruct the problem. The wheel menu opens and closes as it should. The character also behaves normally. Unfortunately, I was not able to trigger the bug. LovelyEmotes doesn't do anything weird with your character either, so I couldn't find anything in the code. So for now I would say that it is not due to this addon. Have you tried deactivating your addons and activating them one after the other to find out which addon is causing this or if it's an addon at all? I would love to see your video on this. Please write me privately about it. There are a few google hits on the problem you describe. Maybe that can help you too. |

Awesome!
I really love this addon! Very well done with the interface and scalable selection wheel.
I was going to request a possible feature to select an emote to play in a loop whenever your character was idle (with a keybind to toggle between this and the default behavior), however it looks EVENT_EFFECT_CHANGED value AbilityType == ABILITY_TYPE_STOPMOVING doesn't actually fire when the player stops moving and is probably related to being stunned or something. No big deal really as I can just set an emote to favorites for that. However I did have a question about how to set a favorite to play in an infinite loop as I can't seem to figure it out. Anyway thanks for such a cool addition to the game!

Hi Phinix, thank you for your good idea. I have made a note of it.
First of all, it will take a lot of effort to implement it properly. Custom Idle Animation is an addon that already plays emotes in idle state. There have already been two requests for compatibility and it should now be compatible with LovelyEmotes. As long as this addon is provided with updates, I would do without this feature for the time being. I hope there is understanding for this. But I will keep it in mind and think about it. |

I have already tried to reproduce this issue. And unfortunately I could not trigger such an issue, nor could I trace it back to LovelyEmotes. Therefore, I would stick to the point of view that this is triggered by another addon. To narrow down the problem, you should check whether your addons are up to date and whether such errors are described in their discussions. Otherwise, you can deactivate your addons and activate them one by one, then play for a while and activate the next one if no problems occur. I'm sorry I can't help you with anything else for now. If you have found the source of this issue, please let me know. Then I'll take a look at it. In the text, the last section describes that the character keeps looking in a certain direction as soon as you stop. I also had this problem a long time ago. However, this problem occurred quite randomly in different situations and only a restart helped. I never found out exactly why. But it has nothing to do with LovelyEmotes. What has changed is that I have massively reduced the number of addons I use. Edit: Are you perhaps using an addon that hides error messages (such as "Suppress Error Message")? If the camera is locked and an error occurs, the camera remains locked even after "/reloadui".

Is there any way to keep a set of emotes specifically for the Radial menu?
Basically I want to have ~10 emotes readily available via a keybind then others only available via a radial menu. |

the wheel menu displays the selected emotes or commands of the currently selected tab. Binding the wheel menu to a separate/fixed tab is not currently intended. What you can do to achieve something similar is to set the number of tabs to 2 in the LovelyEmotes settings. In one tab, select the emotes you want to use via keybindings. In the other tab, select the emotes you want to use in the wheel menu. Now you have two options: 1. In the menu for keybindings, bind one of the two entries that cycle through the tabs (it is called "Next Tab" or "Previous Tab"). This way you can quickly switch back and forth between the tabs even if the wheel menu is already shown. 2. You can hack the functionality in (not tested). Navigate to the LovelyEmotes folder and open the "RadialMenu.lua" file, which is located in the "Files" folder. - Replace line 91 with "LovelyEmotes.MainWindow.ShowFavoriteEmotesTab(2)". - Add "LovelyEmotes.MainWindow.ShowFavoriteEmotesTab(1)" to line 105. In the game, always leave the first tab selected and use your keybindings to play the emotes. If you now open the wheel menu, the second tab should now be selected and displayed. When you close it again, it selects tab 1. I have made a note of your request and will see if I can implement it in a meaningful way in a future release. |
