I tested the 5.0.1. No errors pop up. Seem to be working ok.

Re: Option for 12 tabs instead of 8 please!
so far, I have not found a satisfactory way to set a variable maximum number of tabs per user. But I have already considered what you want in a past update, because another user also needed more tabs. You can change 2 variables I have provided for this in one file: - Open the file "Constants.lua" with any text editor. You can find it under "<path to addons folder>/LovelyEmotes/Files/Constants.lua". - In line 4 you will find the variable "LE_Const_FavoriteEmotesTabIndexMax = 8". Replace this line with "LE_Const_FavoriteEmotesTabIndexMax = 12" (without quotes). - Now you can increase the number of tabs to 12 in the LovelyEmotes settings menu in the game. However, the window is most likely too small now. Additionally, increase the value in line 10 of the variable "LE_Const_MainWindowBaseWidth = 300" to 370 (or whatever looks best for you) until the buttons no longer overlap. You also want to bind these new tabs to your mouse buttons: - Open the file "Bindings.xml" with a text editor of your choice. You will find the file in the same folder as the previous one. - Insert the following lines between line 60 and 61:
Warning: Spoiler
Code:
<Action name="LOVELYEMOTES_TAB_9" > <Down> LovelyEmotes.BindingFunctions.TryShowTab(9) </Down> </Action> <Action name="LOVELYEMOTES_TAB_10" > <Down> LovelyEmotes.BindingFunctions.TryShowTab(10) </Down> </Action> <Action name="LOVELYEMOTES_TAB_11" > <Down> LovelyEmotes.BindingFunctions.TryShowTab(11) </Down> </Action> <Action name="LOVELYEMOTES_TAB_12" > <Down> LovelyEmotes.BindingFunctions.TryShowTab(12) </Down> </Action> If you need further help, feel free to ask. |

Option for 12 tabs instead of 8 please!
ShinyBones, can you give us the option to have 12 tabs instead of 8? I use a 12-button gaming mouse and the ability to switch to any tab with my mouse would be wonderful. Really love your mod. And thank you for keeping it updated.

sorry, I misinterpreted your first message. What you describe already exists as a separate addon, so I see no need to add such a feature. I assume that there should be no conflicts if you use both addons. If there are conflicts I will gladly take a look at it. I also don't understand the advantage of having a dropdown menu in addition to the existing features. You can activate the emote list in the main window (it's the little list icon) and then turn the window on and off (now also through the optional chat button). A dropdown would then be the same again, just arranged differently. I hope this answer helps you anyway. |

No. I meant I don't want to see a separate window for emotes at all. Clicking the chat window button shows a dropdown menu of possible emotes, you select the emote you want, the chat window closes.
I don't want to see this floating by itself at any time. |

Hello Aheno,
thank you for your suggestion. It's a good idea and not difficult to implement. I will upload an update soon that will include this feature. Edit: I have uploaded a new version. Search for "Enable Chat Button" in the settings menu.

Hi! Can this be part of the main chat window as an option instead of a new individual floating icon please?
Thanks. |

Re: Re: Suggestion
Thank you for your consideration
AutoEmote is pretty good. However it's not particularly user friendly as you have to set up all your triggers in the notepad document. It can be a little bit confusing to get these set up right. They do provide instructions, but if you've never done it before it's still a little bit of learning to get it right. I liked that the other addon that no longer works had an in game menu to set them up. The last update was 2020 I think but it still works. If it stops working, thank you for being open to adding the function to your addon ♥ |

Re: Suggestion
Hello Teknikah,
thank you very much for your suggestion. This is a very good idea and would fit well into LovelyEmotes. I already saw that you found a working alternative. Nevertheless, I will keep this in mind and am not averse to it if the alternative is no longer developed. |

Suggestion
I recently stumbled across Circonians EmoteIt and it looks amazing for some dynamic flare when typing in the chat box.
However it's really out of date and because of this I can't configure it for how I want to use it I was wondering if you would be willing to incorporate this kind of function into this addon? Giving us the ability to set up keyword triggers to play emotes when we type in the chat box. I was trying to set up triggers for phrases like "over here" using /beckon and "hey" using /wave before I realised I couldn't get this to work for anything other than the /Emote channel due to the addon menu drop down being broken. They work brilliantly when I tested them in my house using the /Emote channel, but I'd really like these working in any of the chat boxes including /Zone. I don't RP with others so I don't use /Emote
