Binder  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.10
by: Aiiane [More]
Binder provides a way to save and load keybinding sets, including the ability to save the bindings from one character and load them on another.

After install, you can use the following commands in the chat window:

Code:
/binder save SETNAME
  Saves current keybindings as the specified set name.

/binder load SETNAME
  Loads the specified set of keybinds, overwriting any existing keybindings.

/binder list
  Lists the name of each saved bind set.

/binder delete SETNAME
  Deletes the specified set of keybinds.

/binder auto
  Manage automatic bind set syncing.
Automatic bind set syncing is disabled by default. If you enable it, it allows you to automatically save the active bind set whenever you change keybindings, and automatically have those changes to all other characters using the same bind set. (Characters without an active bind set will have one automatically created for them named "Charactername-auto" - you can change the active set for a character via /binder load or /binder save.)

(MIT License)
Version 1.10:
- Increment API version to 100009.

Version 1.9:
- Increment API Version for Update 2 patch.

Version 1.8:
- Increment API Version for Craglorn patch.

Version 1.7:
- Work around some characters having different available targets for binding keys (e.g. due to addons).

Version 1.6:
- Add explicit error message if trying to load binds in combat
- Add debugging information

Version 1.5:
- Add missing entry for "/binder auto" in the help list.

Version 1.4:
- Replace spaces in character names with dashes when creating an automatic profile.

Version 1.3:
- Add automatic bind set syncing functionality.
- Add "/binder auto" to manage automatic bind syncing.
- Add "/binder delete" to delete saved bind sets.

Version 1.2:
- Fix optional Wykkyd Framework integration, so addon won't crash for players with WF installed.

Version 1.1
- Added "/binder list" to list saved bind sets.

Just an FYI for those that might be running into trouble after updating, you may need to uninstall the addon and delete your saved variable binder.lua. Then reinstall the binder addon and log into character you want to save keybinds from using

/binder save <savedname>

then log into your other characters and do

/binder load <savedname>

I finally got it to work by doing this, hope this helps others that might be running into some issues

On the character that I have all set up with their keybinds, I type in chat: /binder save zeb

Then I log into each character and when on that character, I type in chat: /binder load zeb

To see all the commands, type in chat: /binder

Replace zeb with whatever you want to save the commands as. You can save as many as you like for different characters or what not, the name can be whatever you like.

Thank you, love the addon and appreciate the update. Just remember folks you should always backup the settings day before patch. If someone does take this over maybe adding a backup setting would be nice, if possible.

I've bumped the API version. I don't play ESO anymore though so there probably won't be any more feature updates unless someone decides to fork the addon (which they are welcome to, as per the terms of the license).
Thanks!

I just downloaded and used it perfectly fine a few hours ago, so it does indeed still work properly. Thanks for this and thanks for taking care of the "Out of Date" issue.

I don't know how to copy from chat to text in clipboard, so did screensaves of the debug, and this forum doesn't seem to allow adding picture. so I'll type it in...

/script d(Binder.savedVariables.bindings[set23].MOVE_FORWARD)
.(table): 1 = table: 6D19D8A0
.(number): mod1 = 0
.(number): mod1 = 0
.(number): mod1 = 0
.(number): mod1 = 0
.(number): keyCode = 84

/script d(Binder.debug)
autoloadedset = somarra-auto
maxbindingsperaction = 2
loadingset = set23
autosavedset = set23
autosavingset = set23
bindCount = 84
skippedBindCount = 0
saveedset = set23
loadedset = set23
autoloadingset = somarra-auto
savingset = set23

One other note: I think when I saved set23 it said saving 84, matching the bindCount here.

But when I loaded it, it was different. I checked it again on a new character kristinia. the first thing I did was /binder load set23, and it said it loaded 79 bindings. then I did "/binder auto on" and it enabled auto bind settings AND "Loaded 83 bindings from bind set 'set23'.

So, loaded 79 in one case, 83 in the other out of 84. If that helps.
Hm. It might make sense for something to go wonky with addons that add keybindings... but I'm not sure why it would affect MOVE_FORWARD rather than the specific keybindings added by an addon. Perhaps because it's trying to add the keybinding for the addon's extra binding, but it doesn't exist, causing an error. That's probably it.

I'm going to push a new version that should work around that.

That's extremely odd.

Both of you, if it happens again, before you fix the binding can do you run the following in your chat window and take a screenshot of the output or otherwise type it here? (Replacing YOURSETNAME with the name of your saved set.)

Code:
/script d(Binder.savedVariables.bindings["YOURSETNAME"].MOVE_FORWARD)
I definitely want to run down the bug.

Edit: Actually, even better, if you could also update to Binder 1.6 that I'm pushing live right now, and then if it happens again also give me the results from:

Code:
/script d(Binder.debug)

Hm. The one previous time I ran into that was with Joviex's addon settings syncer also installed. Are you using that addon as well? I'm wondering if there's a weird interaction.
No, I'm currently not using that addon.
