Garkin, I made the changes you recommended and I still get an error: MailR.lua:1307 Unexpected symbol near '
So I am not sure, it causes mailr to not work |

I used this fix today after 1.5.2 and so far no errors except from MailR. I'm not using the wykkyd mail addon.

Zenimax have been good enough to go through everything and return my lost items tho, even after telling them it was due to addons clashing. So good on their Customer Support Team I will keep a close eye on your development and hopefully can return to using it soon! Good work, and best of luck. |

One way to tell if its the addons conflicting is look at the text next to the delete button (I think its default keybind is 'x') if it says 'delete' than its the original mailbox/MailR if it says 'Force Delete' then its using Wykkyd. I seem to be able to reproduce this behavior regularly when it says 'Force Delete' and not at all when it just says 'Delete'

Yep this delete bug just happened to me, unfortunately it deleted a mail with attachments from a friend - stacks of runes he wanted me to make for him.
So...yeah. |

While the chances may be minute, unfortunately it is happening. It could be a conflict with another addon maybe, i run quite a few. The only other one that effect the mail is by Wyykyyd, the mail return addon. I notice you have a beta version uploaded with guild functionality. I may download that and do a bit of testing to see if it is the same. Also i will try it as the only addon running to see if that helps. Again, I appreciate your response, thank you |

I only call DeleteMail (the API call that actually deletes the mail) in one place. Before this function is called the function IsMailReturnable() which should return true if you have attachments in that mail message. If it returns true then the DeleteMail method is not called. IsMailReturnable will only return false if there are no attachments (or I think if its from customer service or something) or it is a saved mail message. This means that if this happened because of MailR delete was called on a saved MailR message and between two lines of code the mailId changed to an original message with attachments and DeleteMail was called with that original mailId. The odds of this seem astronomically low, but not impossible? All this being said if that actually happened then this COULD happen with or without MailR as messages without attachments could return false in the IsMailReturnable function and then the mailId changes to one with attachments and then that one gets deleted instead. hope you are able to recover your items in some way |

The only thing I can think of is some bad juju is changing mail state between function calls (which would be something new I havent seen before). When mail is deleted in MailR I do check whether it was an original or MailR mail, but it is soley based off an ID which is retrieved based on your UI selection. The other thing that comes to mind (and I would have to double check since its been awhile) but ESO should not let you (with or without MailR) delete mails with attachments and when MailR deletes a sent mail its all internal and doesnt make ZOS API calls to delete mail (no server interaction) so I am not quite sure how that would happen. They could have changed what the API returns or the meaning of return values...i have to imagine that is not it though. The only thing I can think of is the delete method was called on a MailR Mail and then somehow right before calling the ZoS deletemail method the mailID got changed to a ZoS mail and their server doesnt actually check (client side does a lot of checking before it calls delete). I am not saying its impossible, but it will take me some time to figure out what is going on. This would imply that mail state is getting changed (very quickly) and it may take me a bit to figure that out. sorry again and ill let you know what I find. If i had the loot to replace I would. I understand your frustration |
