ResourceRadar  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.0.7
by: Shinni [More]
This addon is a lightweight alternative to HarvestMap.
It will display nearby resources (blacksmithing, jewelry, woodworking, clothing, enchanting, alchemy) on the map, compass and highlight them in the 3d world. This works like the ability "keen eye" but instead of a glow it will display the information on the map/compass.

This addon will not display possible spawn location like HarvestMap, instead it displays only already spawned resources near your character.
## 1.0.7
- removed libGPS and other indirect dependencies

## 1.0.6
- removed remaining lib stub dependency

## 1.0.5
- added crimson nirnroot

## 1.0.4
- fixed display on compass/map settings

## 1.0.3
- another attempt to fix the crashes for some users

## 1.0.2
- fixed crash when zoning/changing texture/toggling floating marker

## 1.0.1
- release

I thought it would be in the NodeDetection\Detection.lua, but if it is, I can't figure out what needs to be edited. Please help. I'd like to see the icons from a further distance. (Performance isn't a concern.)
Is there anyone with an answer to this? I skimmed the code myself and couldn't figure it out either (I am no pro programmer tho lol) I have no issue wit performance and would like to experiment with the max distance for the 3d pins.

Super love this addon, but really wish there was some way to boost that distance, I can highlight a node and see the name of it above my compass, but I am unable to see the 3d pin until I start getting closer. This leads me to believe it is possible to get further distance.

It seems this addon isn't compatible with LibGPS version 3 (was only released yesterday iirc). It was working with version 2 and I just updated to version 3 and now Resourceradar is not working. All other addons are working with the new version.

The screen error specifically mentions Resourse Radar looking for LibGPS 2.0.

Thanks!

Is it possible / is there a manual way to get account-wide settings instead of per-toon settings?

I didn't need to restart the game, but I did need to turn on 3D markers (which I wanted to have anyway)

Am I missing some library or something?

Edit: Nevermind, it just looks like that with 3D markers turned off.

Opacity problem

Hey! Amazing addon!
But it seems that I cannot change opacity in the color pickers ;/ I especially wanted to change the opacity of the "unknown" nodes so I wouldn't even see them, but when I try, it just returns to 255 by itself.

Is the detection built differently than HarvestMap?
Compared to HarvestMap I have to get way closer to a resource node for the addon to determine if it's e.g. a herb or not.

The "Floating marker icon" combobox is too big considering it only contains 6 icons.

Other than that it does exactly what I've been using HarvestMap for: displaying the spawned nodes in my vicinity + determining the resource type.

Thumbs up ResourceRadar Is So Great!

Unfortunately, it's not possible to detect the 3d position of other objects. The api only returns the 3d player position or the 2d position of other objects. That's why HarvestMap pins are always a bit off-center, because it saves the player's location when they discovered a new node - not the location of the node itself. This also means, that one can not create 3d pins for unknown resources.

The game will create a marker for every harvestable object and every marker will look the same.
This also means there is no way to have a specific type of marker for undiscovered nodes only.
Yeah. I'm literally asking for exactly what ResourceRadar does be put into HarvestMap.
We don't need specific markers. I'm not asking for that at all. I'm not even asking for color. It can be a single marker for everything, just like ResourceRadar does it.
ResourceRadar's 3D world markers pretty much takes place of the "keen eye" passives in ESO. But it's even better than "keen eye", because you can see the symbols through rocks, trees, and buildings. It's absolutely fantastic.

If you don't want to put that into Harvest Map, that's fine. I'll just continue to use ResourceRadar and Harvest Map together.
I don't mind that ResourceRadar gives markers to nodes I've already discovered, and then Harvest Map gives it a marker as well. I can see the ResourceRadar markers through objects, and that's a big enough "pro" to me to not see it as a "con" at all. I think it's great.

I can easily find all known & unknown nodes thanks for ResourceRadar, and I can see from a distance nodes I've already discovered thanks to Harvest Map.

I just thought other users may really love this as well, and that they'd appreciate having the option to use in Harvest Map.
People that already use Harvest Map may not even think to check out ResourceRadar, because it's described as a "lightweight alternative" to Harvest Map... when, actually, they pair AWESOMELY together.

The pins in ResourceRadar are a feature of ESO that is disabled by default. Resource Radar just enables that feature.
The game does track all harvestable objects, similar to how it tracks all quest objectives. The game does display 3d quest markers above quest objectives by default. ResourceRadar simply enables the same 3d marker feature for harvestable objects.

Thanks again for this! I was wondering if it is possible to change the color of the floating markers? Thx
So far I was not able to figure out a way to change the color. The markers are technically not created by the addon, so there are not a lot of options for the addon to modify them.

at first a great addon! works fine so long, but is it possible to show also things like heavy sack, chest, thieves throve, giant clam (summersend)?
ResourceRadar can not track chests, heavy sacks etc because they are not "harvestable objects".

Would you consider just adding some of this addon's functionality to HarvestMap and allow HarvestMap to give 3D pin world markers to items we haven't yet harvested?
Because that would be absolutely amazing.
There are only two ways to create 3d markers:
a) The addon creates the marker, but then the addon first needs to know the 3d location of the object. (This is how HarvestMap works.)
Unfortunately, it's not possible to detect the 3d position of other objects. The api only returns the 3d player position or the 2d position of other objects. That's why HarvestMap pins are always a bit off-center, because it saves the player's location when they discovered a new node - not the location of the node itself. The game will create a marker for every harvestable object and every marker will look the same.
This also means there is no way to have a specific type of marker for undiscovered nodes only.

Also, can you please make the settings account-wide, or at least give us the option to turn on account-wide settings?
I'll put that on my todo list.
