JunkBuster  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.91
by: ADH, Atoom
Now compatible with 8.2.0 Firesong!

This addon provides a rule-based system to put items in your junk bag or destroy them

Unlike the other automatic junking addons, JunkBuster allows you to filter items by any combination of the following criteria:
  • Name
  • Item Type
  • (Specialized) Item Type
  • Equipment slot
  • Weapon/Armor type
  • Level
  • Price
  • Quality
  • Trait
  • Actor type (Player or Companion)
  • Item is crafted or not
  • Item is stolen or not
  • Item has a set bonus or not
  • Recipee is known or not

For example, you can set it to only junk the ingredients you loot that have 0g price value, or the normal quality (white) stolen treasures (but not the green ones).

Other Features:
  • The addon can automatically sell junked items to a merchant (not stolen items) or a fence (stolen items) when visiting them
  • You can add exemption rules that save and unjunk any special item that you want skipped by junkBuster
  • You can add rules to DESTROY items upon looting
Warning: Be very careful with the destroy option. Destroyed items CAN NOT be returned.

The screenshots show some sample rules that I use when playing.
There is an extended logging option available which provides the info for every looted item in the chatbox so you can fine-tune or make new junking rules.

Planned future additions:
  • Allow <=, >=, == selections for item quality
  • Add support for FCO Item Saver
  • Allow addon to apply rules to (guild) bank too?

Not sure that a comma (or : ) for that matter should be a problem, they shouldn't be Regex control characters. But might be wrong here.
Can you post a few more screens for me:
1. All the rules in the before the ones you already showed
2. The output of the /jbil chat command with an item link to this recipe item attached
3. If possible: Turn on all reporting options in JunkBusters settings and pick up a new psijic ambrosia recipe fragment from either loot or a merchant. Bank transfers won't do anything. Then make screenshot of what is posted in chat window.

1. There is no limit to how many roles can be processed (known to me, but i guess if you put in REALLY many rules at some type you'll run into performance problems (stuttering / disconnects when looting lots of stuff).
There is however a limit on how much Text can be displayed in the rule list on JunkBusters settings page. This is due to a limit of 2000 characters per text box UI element in eso. I put in 8 of those text boxes for rules to be displayed in. But how many rules those 16000 total characters can contain obviously depends on how long the individual rules displayed text is (e.g. how many different filters it contains). So far i haven't found a nice way to dynamically add more text boxes to the settings menu while the game is running (aka without requiring /reloadui or relogging) so this limit will stay for now. It is however only cosmetic. A rule that isn't displayed any more can still get applied to loot (but also deleted or moved, for example if rules before it are deleted it will also show up in the list again).

4. Haven't thought of this yet, me stupid xD. Yes, when opening a merchant / fence and automatic sale is enabled i make a list of all item (stacks) in the backpack, and then check every entry and sell/fence it if its junk flag is set. Wouldn't be too hard to add an option to launder every non junked stolen item at a fence. Might do in next release if it indeed is as simple as i think it probably is

A few minor questions:
  • How do I filter for low-level (raw) materials (e.g. below rubedite)? I tried adding max. CP 120, but it junked rubedite.
  • Also, there seems to be a catch-all 'raw materials' type but no 'materials'?
  • With ESO+ materials go directly to craft bag and aren't filtered, right?
  • Any possibility to add (separate) launder rules? E.g. launder this and that and fence rest.
Thanks for the praise

As to your questions:
  • Not all items have required levels, as for weapons / armor do. Most other items report a level requirement of lvl 1 + cp 0, so those filters won't help much with them. But if you for example would like want to junk any raw blacksmithing materials except for Rubedite you could do that with 2 rules: First a rule "Keep any Blacksmithing Raw Material that has 'Rubedite' in its name", followed by "Junk any Blacksmithing Raw Material" -> Any raw material that isn't Rubedite Ore will be junked.
  • The base item types shown for rules are the stock item types eso uses. Some of those aren't quite intuitive. In this case any materials (raw or not) that are associated with a specific crafting discipline usually have their own category, like "Woodworking (Raw) Material". The item type only called "Raw Material" seems to be only used for certain materials, so far i found that raw Style mats have it. There are no catch all item types, each are separate from each other. You can check what the correct item type of an item is (and some other parameters), by using the /jbil chat command together with the link of the item in question.
  • That is correct, the addon only looks at new items in your backpack. If it instantly ends up in the crafting bag JunkBuster will not notice it. Imho that's no problem as the crafting bag has infinite(ish) space, and doesn't empty out if eso+ runs out even useless stuff in there is no problem.
  • Currently this is not possible to easily add, as the addon only checks items against rules once they get newly picked up. The auto sale at fences (or normal merchants) only makes a list of all items which are marked as junk (by either JunkBuster or any other way the stock eso junk flag can be set on a item (stack)), and sells the items it can (ones marked as stolen at a fence, if not marked at a merchant). So it would technically be possible but a significant change in how the addon works.

Thing is that I tried removing rule 30 and even adding a "Keep all potions" rule to "reset" the potions' junk markers by putting them into the bank and taking them back out but it's not working. Does the addon not check for new items entering the inventory from banks and such? And why is it skipping rules?

It's not about the spelling or anything because it's worked most of the time, but then it still junks potions picked up through the daily reward system (again, skipping past one or more of the rules near the top of my list), which is when it starts to act up like this.
After finally getting some new Crown Tri-Restoration potions from login rewards I found out that there was indeed a bug in the way the addon compared item names with rules. In your case the '-' in the item name in the rule caused a not very intuitive result. This has been fixed with the new version 1.87.

I found a thread in the forums here: Why is it impossible to mark companion item as junk?
That would explain why it isn't junked. I have to confess i haven't really played the latest addon so never really come across companion items myself.

My addon just calls the api function to set (or remove) the junk flag for an item (stack). Exactly the same the context menu junk/unjunk commands do. Haven't seen an item yet that didn't allow to do that (apart from quest items, but those aren't handled the same as normal items to begin with). Wasn't even aware that its possible for an item to not be junk-marked, but if so theres nothing JunkBuster could do about it. Apart from completely redoing how it handles junk by creating my own "marker" for junked items, which would need some kind of databank for keeping track of marked items, some UI modification to show that marker somehow in your inventory, ... (in short: a tremendous pile of work and new and exciting bugs ).

Destroy and keep Rules should still apply to those companion items though, unless its also impossible to destroy them xD
Hello Atoom,
the easiest way would be that ZOE themselves decided for the possibility to junk companion items

Hello Atoom,

this is very strange..
I now put the companion rule as the first junk rule [11]:

JunkBuster seems to recognize the companion item and junks it:

BUT: In the inventory the item is not junked:

This is what /jbil <Item link> gives me for "Wams eines Gefährten":

Another test would be if you could change the Name for the potion rules. Eg. shorten it to just "Crown" or "Tri-Rest" or something. in case either there is a typo or there is something wonky in the item name or my name matching

I'd need to see the complete rule list to judge why it appears to skip those potions. Screenshot would do

However, yes the mod only looks at items (or the stacks they get added too) that you pick up new from vendors, crafting, loot, etc. It doesn't affect bank transfers. This is because the API event Junkbuster reacts to is only triggered for those "newly" added items. ( EVENT_INVENTORY_SINGLE_SLOT_UPDATE ). I like it this way too, because it prevents broken delete rules from accidentally destroying items you already have (would be possible if i'd match the rules directly against everything in your inventory, not just inventory "slots" reported by this event).
Sorry for the slow reply, that's interesting that it's got different triggers for "brand new" items though. Would it be possible to add something to manually unjunk items? A command or anything? Because as it is right now I've got hundreds of my tri-pots that are unjustly marked as junk and no way to undo it other than deleting them.

Here's a screenshot of the setup that somehow skips the "first match" rule:
Warning: Spoiler

I placed the last rules at the bottom to make sure that high quality treasure gets junked and sold.
Junk buster uses the normal built in junk makring eso already has for inventory items. so to remove an item (stack) from junk tab, just right click on it and select "Unmark as junk". (this won't stop any JB rules from marking it again if a new item is picked up and added to the stack though).

The keep rules at the bottom might react slightly wonky. On one hand the result is similar to if they weren't there at all -> items where rule match reaches at least rule 26 will not be junked or deleted. However it will also cause said item (stacks) to be unjunked if they were for some reason marked as junk before (manually via the context menu, or some other addon setting the junk status).

Otherwise to completely diagnose why it for some reason crown potions aren't sold i'd need similar extra data from you as from Neverlands:
Could you enable all "reporting" options in JB settings, also check if "Perfrom keep and unjunk" is enabled under "looting", and post screen of chat message when a potion is wrongly junked?
(if possible also include output of the chat command "/jbil <Item link>" for that item. Thank you! )
