Foundry Tactical Combat (FTC)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.72
by: Atropos [More]
Foundry Tactical Combat is a user interface enhancement for The Elder Scrolls Online designed to give players access to relevant combat data in an easy to process framework which allows them to respond quickly and effectively to evolving combat situations. The multiple components of the FTC addon are designed to restore certain information to the game interface which many gamers may feel is missing from the default minimalistic UI.

The addon is still in active development by Atropos, and will hopefully continue to evolve and improve during the coming weeks and months. If you are a fan of the addon, keep an eye on the main addon page on Tamriel Foundry to ensure you always have the latest version.

FTC Components

Foundry Tactical Combat has six primary components which are each optionally configurable. All UI elements added by FTC can be disabled or repositioned to suit your preferences. Additionally, Foundry Tactical Combat is fully localized for French and German client versions!

Unit Frames – FTC Unit Frames refers to the display of attribute bars and other information pertaining to yourself, your target, and your group members. The FTC frames are designed to be lightweight and informative. The frames show numerical values for your resources and damage shielding, as well as visual indicators for active HoT and DoT effects, your target’s exceute threshold, and more. The unit frames can have a rich set of aesthetic customization options allowing you to achieve the exact look that fits your UI style.

Active Buff Tracking – The Buff Tracking component of FTC displays a configurable list of icons representing the known buff and debuff effects that are currently affecting your character. The ESO addon API does not provide this information for buffs with durations shorter than 30 seconds, but FTC uses an intelligent combination of detection mechanisms to carefully approximate your inventory of active effects. This knowledge can help you make more informed combat decisions, improve your resource management, and optimize your ability rotation.

Combat Log – Foundry Tactical Combat incorporates a text-based combat log which records a history of combat events so that you can review the details of recent encounters. The combat log by default alternates visibility with the ESO chat tab, but can be detached and positioned wherever you desire on-screen. An optional keybinding can be used to quickly toggle the visibility of the combat log.

Scrolling Combat Text – The FTC Scrolling Combat Text component enables real-time display of damage and healing values as they occur in combat as well as a helpful Combat Alerts component that warns your character immediately when significant combat events occur. FTC’s combat text displays the name and icon (when possible) for known sources of damage as well as useful indicators for damage avoidance through shielding, blocking, or dodging. The display style and format of scrolling combat text events can be customized in the settings menu.

Damage Statistics – The Damage Statistics component adds analytical tools to help you examine and improve your combat performance. While in-combat a small DPS meter tracks the length of your current encounter, your cumulative damage-per-second, and your cumulative healing-per-second throughout the fight. After combat has concluded, you can open a full Damage Report which details the composition of your damage and healing by target. These statitics can be linked to your party members in chat using a configurable keybinding or by clicking on the chat icons in the damage report.

Advanced Hotbar – The Advanced Hotbar component improves the default ESO action bar by adding some additional information that is useful in combat. Your current Ultimate pool and your percentage towards the next Ultimate activation is displayed as well as a visual glow indicator behind the ultimate itself which indicates that you are currently generating additional Ultimate in combat. The Advanced Hotbar component also adds an explicit potion cooldown timer so you can know exactly when you will be able to use your next consumable item.

Installation Instructions
To install Foundry Tactical Combat follow these steps. FTC is also supported by Minion, an automated ESO addon management utility.

1) Download FTC_Current.zip to a location of your choosing.
2) Extract the .zip archive into your ESO addons folder found in My Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons/ for Windows users, or Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons. for OS X.
3) You should now have a folder inside Addons named “FoundryTacticalCombat” which contains the addon files.
4) Launch The Elder Scrolls Online. FTC should be automatically enabled. If not, go to the Add-Ons section of the game menu and make sure that the box beside Foundry Tactical Combat is checked.
5) Access the FTC configuration settings by navigating in-game to Settings -> Add-Ons -> FTC, or by simply typing “/ftc” into chat.

Also, low stamina is blue and low magicka is green, that should be the opposite way around shouldn't it?

Found a bug:
If you change any of the fonts for the scrolling combat text, the health and group bars reappear on the screen even if you have them turned off. Reload ui fixes it but it's still a bug.

eh too bad we cant configure unit frames to make like it was before, anyway its different now even if we decrease height

level string too thick imo

1) another bug - out of combat opacity not applied to the target frame

2) need colorpicker for floating text esepcially for Leave combat/enter combat/potion ready/exp gained
to make it like it was before

3) and text settings - looks like there is no font like it was before
can you add those font too? for floating text (default font in old FTC)

4) combat log works only if damage statistic enabled too(need to note dependency in tooltip)

5) need settings to change text size on the damage numbers in the floating text, for now when i change size it applied to the text only, not to the numbers i guess

i'll just post all my issue with the current new version of the mod:

1) horse stamina disappears after i disable either buff tracking or advanced hotbar, not sure which
2) i use another addon for group frames. i cant disable custom group frames and default group frames with this version. if i disable the custom ones, the default ones are on and vice versa
3) i can no longer turn off combat alerts, i don't use them

other than that thanks for maintaining the mod and great job with the cleaner interface post-overhaul

Hey, awesome update and awesome addon, ive used it since the beginning.

This update has caused player frames, player buff and player debuff, and the target frames, as well as the chat window, to relocate to the X Y coordinants on a different monitor for eyefinity (5760x1080) resolution whenever the UI is reloaded. It never used to do this.

For instance, (im going to do this with ascii, im sorry):

[ ][ ][ ] <-- 3 monitors

[ ][ x x ][ ] <-- desired location

[ x ][ ][ x ] <--- after a reload

It may help to know I am using Wykkyd's Multi-Screen addon as well, as the game is nearly unplayable without it.

I'm not sure what would have changed to make this occur now, but it has me using the regular frames and no buff tracker for the time being, and the AD are laughing at me.

EDIT: It's happening to target frames as well.

Hey everyone, thanks for the helpful feedback! My plan is to gather minor bugs and general feedback for the next couple days and release another small update towards the later part of the week unless I discover any critical issues before then.

The bug that's been reported which I am most familiar with is Azoi's, which happens after you have been in the FTC settings menu. Sometimes (but not every time) when you exit the settings menu some of the buff display containers get bugged and try to continue displaying the "fake" buff and debuff text from the settings screen. This (in theory) should not be too difficult a problem to fix, but so far it's proven to be a bit elusive.

I'm loving the new changes and look to FTC. Well done!

I came across two small bugs:

1. FTC Damage Report - When clicking the chat bubble icon to report All Targets damage, it gives the correct damage stats in the chat box but assigns it to the first player's name on the list rather than saying All Damage.

2. I often get a debuff called Player Debuff 1 or Player Debuff 2 overlapping some Player Buffs. I've noticed it happen a lot of the time when I'm using Dark Cloak but it's not isolated to just this.

See pic below - Shadow Barrier has Player Debuff 1 listed under it. My Debuffs are set to display underneath my stats box and display there fine, so it's not a case of accidental overlap positioning of the boxes.

I also see this on other player buffs. Here's one I snapped a screenshot of:

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the great mod and update, really liking the custom group window especially!

Some minor things:
-the fonts in the damage statistics page are a little too big for my taste, would be nice to be able to customize that too
-fontsizes of the combat alerts seem a bit inconsistent, e.g. entering/leaving combat messages are really small, while CC or ultimate alerts are huge in comparison (I suppose some difference makes sense based on the importance of the messages, but it's a bit too much currently imho)
-mount stamina is not shown when mini experience bar is disabled
-I haven't looked into it all too much yet, but with most people picking multiple roles in group finder the coloring of the group window frames could end up being wrong more often than not - maybe add a little toggable icon to change their roles manually?

And last but not least:
I hope this doesn't require much effort since it is pretty specific and hardly more than a handful of people would use this feature - Would it be possible to change the language of the damage statistics page and the paste to chat function (or, if that's easier, FTC's language in general)?
I use a non-english client simply because it makes questing a little more enjoyable if you don't run into the odd word you don't know and have to look up, but sharing FTC statistics in chat or via screenshots is a bit crippled if only a handful (if at all) people you want to show it to can actually decipher the ability names etc. if they aren't in English.

Thanks again and have a great day, I doubt I'd still be playing this game without awesome addons like FTC!

Hi,

Thanx for the great job you did

"Allow FTC Combat Log to alternate with ESO chat or be detached independently."

"Add optional keybinding for quickly toggling display of the FTC Combat Log."

Version tested 0.62

Altenarte option on : when using keybinding chat is back but FTC Combat Log still behind is that a bug ?
Look like the keybinding is just a clone of "Show/Hide Chat" shortcut in game settings.

When u going to FTC settings and ESC back to game Combat Log window disappear. Need open inventory to get it back on screen.

Foundry Tactical Combat Version 0.60 Released

Hey ESO friends, I’m really excited to reach the conclusion of a big development effort to update and evolve the Foundry Tactical Combat addon, enabling it to continue serving as an excellent and comprehensive combat interface for The Elder Scrolls Online. It’s been quite a while since the last major update for FTC, and I’d like to start by thanking everyone for their support and patience. I’m really excited with the changes that I have made, and I hope that you give the new FTC a try.

This new version features extensive functional and aesthetic overhauling of existing FTC components as well as the addition of several new and much requested features. Some of the key highlights of this new release include redesigned scrolling combat text, more accurate buff tracking, small group and large group frames, a revamped damage report, and countless new aesthetic customization options!

Version 0.60 Changes

General Changes
  • Thorough aesthetic overhaul of the entire addon.
  • Complete performance sweep of every FTC component to ensure efficient memory usage.
  • Complete French and German localization of FTC components thanks to the excellent work of Einherjar Mooneh TehMagnus and Rial.
  • Significantly improved customization of FTC components with a far more flexible addon settings menu.
  • Switched to use account-wide saved variables; your FTC configurations will now apply to all the characters on your ESO account automatically.

Unit Frames
  • Added extensive aesthetic options for modifying the size color font and style of unit frames.
  • Added visualizations for healing and damage-over-time effects.
  • Added configurable indicator on the target frame denoting execute range.
  • Improved detection rules for damage shielding to provide as accurate as possible an assessment of your character’s defenses. Certain fundamental bugs in the ESO API will still cause shielding to be incorrectly reported.
  • Introduce optional small group frame for groups of four or fewer members.
  • Introduce optional raid frame for large groups this raid frame can also be used for small groups by disabling the small group frame but keeping raid frames enabled.

Buff Tracking
  • Added multiple buff format options for each buffs container allowing fine-tuning of buff tracking display.
  • Added options for rendering buffs in list format displaying buff names in addition to tiled icons.
  • New customization options for modifying the apperance of tracked buffs.
  • Include many new buffs and debuffs which were not previously tracked by the addon.

Combat Log
  • Introduce new FTC Combat Log component. This customizable window will retain a printed record of damage healing and other significant combat events.
  • Allow FTC Combat Log to alternate with ESO chat or be detached independently.
  • Add optional keybinding for quickly toggling display of the FTC Combat Log.

Scrolling Combat Text
  • Significantly improve the aesthetics and efficiency of the scrolling combat text (SCT) component.
  • Add optional icons for most of the recognized sources of damage in the game.
  • Add many customization options for configuring the appearance of scrolling combat text.
  • Added a number of new SCT alerts for important combat conditions like crowd control effects and DoT cleansing.

Combat Stats
  • Introduce separate combat statistics component which tracks and details your character’s performance in combat.
  • Vastly improve the information content in the FTC Damage Report breaking down combat events by target and providing insight into key abilities.
  • Enable linking to chat for specific targets instead of the entire encounter.

Advanced Hotbar
  • Improve accuracy of current consumable (potion) cooldown timer.
  • Add a visual glow behind your Ultimate ability indicating when you are currently gaining Ultimate through combat.

Version 0.60 Known Issues

Unit Frames
  • An ongoing bug in the ESO API continues to cause the incorrect reporting of shielding, this can be particularly prevalent in Cyrodiil. Myself and other addon authors are in contact with ZeniMax about this issue which will hopefully be resolve in an upcoming patch.

Combat Log
  • Some words and phrases reported in the new FTC Combat Log are not yet localized for French and German client versions.

Scrolling Combat Text
  • Some abilities do not have unique icons assigned. If you find an ability which should have a unique icon but is recieving the default damage icon, please contact Atropos with details.

[EDIT]
Hey everyone,

I have posted a minor patched version to the new FTC (0.62) which addresses the following issues:

Version 0.62 Changes
  • Correct a performance impact in combat related to weapon swapping and an event that seems to be erroneously fired by the ESO API.
  • Correct a minor bug in the settings menu which was forcing a full /reloadui when certain options were changed.
  • Correct a bug with group frames that was preventing offline members from being displayed correctly as “Offline”
  • Correct an issue for Nightblades which was causing UI errors if the FTC Buffs component was disabled.
  • Fix an issue causing your mouse to be stuck in UI mode when exiting the FTC damage report.
  • Fix an issue preventing the Champion XP bar from alternating between the three constellations correctly.

Thanks for the feedback, Archongamer. This is possible, but I'm not sure whether or not I'll implement it in the next version. The prompt messages like "Block", "Interrupt", etc.. are not generated by FTC. I'm guessing you are using another addon which is giving you those alerts.
