Foundry Tactical Combat (FTC)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.72
by: Atropos [More]
Foundry Tactical Combat is a user interface enhancement for The Elder Scrolls Online designed to give players access to relevant combat data in an easy to process framework which allows them to respond quickly and effectively to evolving combat situations. The multiple components of the FTC addon are designed to restore certain information to the game interface which many gamers may feel is missing from the default minimalistic UI.

The addon is still in active development by Atropos, and will hopefully continue to evolve and improve during the coming weeks and months. If you are a fan of the addon, keep an eye on the main addon page on Tamriel Foundry to ensure you always have the latest version.

FTC Components

Foundry Tactical Combat has six primary components which are each optionally configurable. All UI elements added by FTC can be disabled or repositioned to suit your preferences. Additionally, Foundry Tactical Combat is fully localized for French and German client versions!

Unit Frames – FTC Unit Frames refers to the display of attribute bars and other information pertaining to yourself, your target, and your group members. The FTC frames are designed to be lightweight and informative. The frames show numerical values for your resources and damage shielding, as well as visual indicators for active HoT and DoT effects, your target’s exceute threshold, and more. The unit frames can have a rich set of aesthetic customization options allowing you to achieve the exact look that fits your UI style.

Active Buff Tracking – The Buff Tracking component of FTC displays a configurable list of icons representing the known buff and debuff effects that are currently affecting your character. The ESO addon API does not provide this information for buffs with durations shorter than 30 seconds, but FTC uses an intelligent combination of detection mechanisms to carefully approximate your inventory of active effects. This knowledge can help you make more informed combat decisions, improve your resource management, and optimize your ability rotation.

Combat Log – Foundry Tactical Combat incorporates a text-based combat log which records a history of combat events so that you can review the details of recent encounters. The combat log by default alternates visibility with the ESO chat tab, but can be detached and positioned wherever you desire on-screen. An optional keybinding can be used to quickly toggle the visibility of the combat log.

Scrolling Combat Text – The FTC Scrolling Combat Text component enables real-time display of damage and healing values as they occur in combat as well as a helpful Combat Alerts component that warns your character immediately when significant combat events occur. FTC’s combat text displays the name and icon (when possible) for known sources of damage as well as useful indicators for damage avoidance through shielding, blocking, or dodging. The display style and format of scrolling combat text events can be customized in the settings menu.

Damage Statistics – The Damage Statistics component adds analytical tools to help you examine and improve your combat performance. While in-combat a small DPS meter tracks the length of your current encounter, your cumulative damage-per-second, and your cumulative healing-per-second throughout the fight. After combat has concluded, you can open a full Damage Report which details the composition of your damage and healing by target. These statitics can be linked to your party members in chat using a configurable keybinding or by clicking on the chat icons in the damage report.

Advanced Hotbar – The Advanced Hotbar component improves the default ESO action bar by adding some additional information that is useful in combat. Your current Ultimate pool and your percentage towards the next Ultimate activation is displayed as well as a visual glow indicator behind the ultimate itself which indicates that you are currently generating additional Ultimate in combat. The Advanced Hotbar component also adds an explicit potion cooldown timer so you can know exactly when you will be able to use your next consumable item.

Installation Instructions
To install Foundry Tactical Combat follow these steps. FTC is also supported by Minion, an automated ESO addon management utility.

1) Download FTC_Current.zip to a location of your choosing.
2) Extract the .zip archive into your ESO addons folder found in My Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons/ for Windows users, or Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons. for OS X.
3) You should now have a folder inside Addons named “FoundryTacticalCombat” which contains the addon files.
4) Launch The Elder Scrolls Online. FTC should be automatically enabled. If not, go to the Add-Ons section of the game menu and make sure that the box beside Foundry Tactical Combat is checked.
5) Access the FTC configuration settings by navigating in-game to Settings -> Add-Ons -> FTC, or by simply typing “/ftc” into chat.

No alerts coming up

I have noticed that since i updated foundry alerts such as Lorebook discovered and quest alerts dont come up on the screen any more. I disabled addons one by one and found that it was FTC so I have uninstalled for the moment, which is a pity because I find it a great addon.

I couldn't find anything in the settings that disabled this feature.

hey, i have a suggestion for ftc, can you add optional icons for the combatlog (icons beside the numbers/names) like the LUI addon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VfJVWyFBs4)

this would be really nice!

great addon my fav ty.

noticed that since patch I cant see player names, and floating stats was intermittent.

Also lost ability to see dialogue for open door etc.

I disabled addons one by one and saw it was foundry.

Have disabled and UI working again but I have lost so much without foundry makes me realise how much I need it !

I'm getting this error after the latest patch...

It seems to happen after I reloaded the FTC addon when I was updating my other addons.

Hello there, I would like to report a bug:

Whenever I'm riding my horse, or running, while the stamina bar for both running and the horse is recharging; when I open the map and close it, the default (ESO games) stamina bar pops up and quickly disappears, and sometimes takes a bit to disappear.

Happens every time, so odds are you would see it, if not let me know and I'll give more detail.

Edit: Oh, and from the looks of it, whenever I loot something and move, the ESO games default health bar quickly shows, and disappears real fast as well. That's if I walk forward it quickly disappears. When I hit "A" to walk sideways, it shows longer (plus the Mana bar shows up). If I hit the "D" for the other sideways, the Mana bar shows most of the time, while the other ones show here and there.

Okay, I noticed I could not move the player/target buff/debuff bars because the "Anchor to target" option was enabled. Silly me, but I did not notice as I do not use the FTC player/target frames (only combat and debuff tracking) but it yet anchors it to their new location after disabling player/target frames (bottom center of the screen).

Anyways, I noticed the following that might be some kind of bug/unintended behaviour.

Target Buffs Frame:
The target buff frame could not be moved after unlocking all frames due to it disappearing as fast as you have no target in your reticle. Everytime I unlocked the mouse pointer or pressed alt/esc the frame would disappear, making it imposible to move it.

By playing a bit with it, I noticed you need to stay looking the opposite direction to any target, so when you press esc/alt to free your mouse and your char looks to the screen, the now hidden reticle will point to the player/mob and the target buff frame will be available to move.

It also does not show other buffs as Mundus stones buffs or Cyro scrolls.

Target Debuffs Frame:
It does not disappear like the Target buff frame when you stop pointing at a target wich is a good thing to move it freely after unlocking, but it results in Target Debuffs being kept in screen after I kill the target until the timer from the dot/debuff runs out.

For example, If I would use a "Unstable flame" spell on a crit, after the crit dies to it I would run away and while the target buff frame wont show (as there is no target anymore) the debuff tracking will keep the Fire dot in screen until it runs out of time.

So, after this wall of text, TLDR:
Could it be possible to have all the buffs showing the target buff frame? If this is intended to not show the previous commented buffs, could we have a toggle to enable them showing?
Could it be possible to have a separate toggle to disable player/target buff/debuff frames separately? This way I could use ggFrames buff frame but all others frames from FTC wich seem to work better for me.

thanks for all your hard work and happy esoing!

Apparently the game has it with capital O in "Of", but it's not spelled like that in the buff list in the addon.
Thanks for the bug report, I'll get this corrected in the next version.

It is possible, but tricky, and would require a lot of code to be written to protect from errors/bugs that would result from new settings not being changed at the appropriate moments. This is a quality of life improvement that I would like to add in the future, but for the time being it's a bit lower priority than some other issues.

Hi, first of all great addon - keep on the good work mate.

I have 1 problem with the Buff/Debuff-tracker, i use a light attack right before i use a spell. The problem is, if i do that the buffs/debuffs are not tracked anymore.
The light attack is important for the higher dps output, its casted because of its lower priority - if u don't know what i mean just read this.

is there any way to fix this, to implement this priority of the Animation-Lock into the tracking system?

Best regards, FourOne.

One question, can anybody move the player and target buffs/debuffs tracker?

Im unlocking it from the FTC settings menu, and I can move the vertical buff bar in the right-bottom corner of the screen, but I cant move the player buff/debuff and target debuff horizontal bars even when after unlocking them you can see the black retangle with the name in it.

thanks in advance.

Changing the Font

I was messing around with changing the font of the character/target name and the health/magicka/stamina values on the unit frames and ran into some difficulty. So, two questions:

1, do you know the name of the default TESO typeface used in game?
2, am I thinking correctly that if a new typeface is downloaded and placed in the lib/font directory that it will become the active typeface after a game restart, or does the typeface file need be renamed to Metamorphous?

Great add-on, and absolute must have in my book.

How about putting in some "auto-hide" feature which hides the bars when at 100% and not in combat?
Yeah, I want to do something like this for a future version when I work on some more unit frame improvements.

Aah, good catch, sorry about that (it would annoy me too). I'll fix that in the next version.

Yes, this was my mistake. I had been intending to upgrade for a while now, but in my hurry to release 0.32 I forgot to switch out the LAM version. I'll make another note to do this.

I find it interesting when people bother posting here threatening to stop using my addon unless I do (insert demand here).

Tell you what, I'll reconsider not incrementing the saved variables version for minor releases if you reconsider the way you make requests and/or leave feedback.

request feature???

Hi I would like to know if there's a way to see the top damage done in the whole session.

Of course it should only be modified if you do more damage than previous number or if you reload/relog/switch instance/map.

If there's not a way right now I think it should be an interesting feature to see while in PvP what is your top damage while fighting.
