Foundry Tactical Combat (FTC)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 0.72
by: Atropos [More]
Foundry Tactical Combat is a user interface enhancement for The Elder Scrolls Online designed to give players access to relevant combat data in an easy to process framework which allows them to respond quickly and effectively to evolving combat situations. The multiple components of the FTC addon are designed to restore certain information to the game interface which many gamers may feel is missing from the default minimalistic UI.

The addon is still in active development by Atropos, and will hopefully continue to evolve and improve during the coming weeks and months. If you are a fan of the addon, keep an eye on the main addon page on Tamriel Foundry to ensure you always have the latest version.

FTC Components

Foundry Tactical Combat has six primary components which are each optionally configurable. All UI elements added by FTC can be disabled or repositioned to suit your preferences. Additionally, Foundry Tactical Combat is fully localized for French and German client versions!

Unit Frames – FTC Unit Frames refers to the display of attribute bars and other information pertaining to yourself, your target, and your group members. The FTC frames are designed to be lightweight and informative. The frames show numerical values for your resources and damage shielding, as well as visual indicators for active HoT and DoT effects, your target’s exceute threshold, and more. The unit frames can have a rich set of aesthetic customization options allowing you to achieve the exact look that fits your UI style.

Active Buff Tracking – The Buff Tracking component of FTC displays a configurable list of icons representing the known buff and debuff effects that are currently affecting your character. The ESO addon API does not provide this information for buffs with durations shorter than 30 seconds, but FTC uses an intelligent combination of detection mechanisms to carefully approximate your inventory of active effects. This knowledge can help you make more informed combat decisions, improve your resource management, and optimize your ability rotation.

Combat Log – Foundry Tactical Combat incorporates a text-based combat log which records a history of combat events so that you can review the details of recent encounters. The combat log by default alternates visibility with the ESO chat tab, but can be detached and positioned wherever you desire on-screen. An optional keybinding can be used to quickly toggle the visibility of the combat log.

Scrolling Combat Text – The FTC Scrolling Combat Text component enables real-time display of damage and healing values as they occur in combat as well as a helpful Combat Alerts component that warns your character immediately when significant combat events occur. FTC’s combat text displays the name and icon (when possible) for known sources of damage as well as useful indicators for damage avoidance through shielding, blocking, or dodging. The display style and format of scrolling combat text events can be customized in the settings menu.

Damage Statistics – The Damage Statistics component adds analytical tools to help you examine and improve your combat performance. While in-combat a small DPS meter tracks the length of your current encounter, your cumulative damage-per-second, and your cumulative healing-per-second throughout the fight. After combat has concluded, you can open a full Damage Report which details the composition of your damage and healing by target. These statitics can be linked to your party members in chat using a configurable keybinding or by clicking on the chat icons in the damage report.

Advanced Hotbar – The Advanced Hotbar component improves the default ESO action bar by adding some additional information that is useful in combat. Your current Ultimate pool and your percentage towards the next Ultimate activation is displayed as well as a visual glow indicator behind the ultimate itself which indicates that you are currently generating additional Ultimate in combat. The Advanced Hotbar component also adds an explicit potion cooldown timer so you can know exactly when you will be able to use your next consumable item.

Installation Instructions
To install Foundry Tactical Combat follow these steps. FTC is also supported by Minion, an automated ESO addon management utility.

1) Download FTC_Current.zip to a location of your choosing.
2) Extract the .zip archive into your ESO addons folder found in My Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons/ for Windows users, or Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/Addons. for OS X.
3) You should now have a folder inside Addons named “FoundryTacticalCombat” which contains the addon files.
4) Launch The Elder Scrolls Online. FTC should be automatically enabled. If not, go to the Add-Ons section of the game menu and make sure that the box beside Foundry Tactical Combat is checked.
5) Access the FTC configuration settings by navigating in-game to Settings -> Add-Ons -> FTC, or by simply typing “/ftc” into chat.

Combat Alerts

Hi,

Thanks for the nice add-on. I hope you'll be able to implement combat alerts in the future. (block, dodge, etc)

Question Movable Character Sheet & Damage Meter

I would really like to see the Character Sheet & Damage Meter able to be moved. currently I am not using it since I have other things from other addons in the top left. Very nice addon though, well thought out and clean!

So, I disliked the font selection, and I changed it. Then I went back and added dropdown menus in the FTC settings for font selection. However, the options are hardcoded in. I'm not very familiar with lua, and I wouldn't have any idea how to dynamically populate the dropdown options based on compatible (otf and ttf) files present in a certain directory (/lib of this addon). Any idea on that?

Also, I've changed some of the scrolling text stuff, but its minor changes (color and size). I'd like to be able to have them appear in straight columns (as opposed to each succeeding damage entry being left/right aligned within the container/column). Furthermore, would anyone have any idea what I'd have to look into in order to have the damage appear above the target recipient's head?

Thanks!

You do realize that you don't have to use this?

If you don't like it, shut up and don't comment/visit a UI site... other people do like it, and they have no interest in your opinions on how they should play their game.

You (and people like you) already got Zenimax to gut the API, just leave already.

Like your mod, even if I don't use it always for the sake of immersion when numbers don't really matter or not curious\competitive. Wanted to voice my suggestions.
I'd love if the bar would be possible to break down to parts, I mean hp\magicka\stam bar optionally to be separate and all 3 bars repositionable however we would want. optional background off option for bars.
But from what I really do use, I'd really love if the scrolling text would be possible to pick&turn on\off. for example I really don't want it to always tell me I'm low on stamina (we all sprint a lot in our exploration don't we) and what if I want to see only my damage and not the enemies'? I mean we have an option for turning the names of the damage source on\off, that's great but flexibility in setting your floating text would be great (in time and if it's possible of course).
And also I think that those char and damage sheets must be movable. Before it wasn't bothering me that much, but now I use a mod that is always in that corner so I can't read the sheets properly without turning it off. And I like the extra info those sheets provide, I even keybinded them.
P.S. ideal solution to stamina thing is adding an option so that "Low on X" message would appear only in battle for example. I understand that may be hard to do so it's just a guess.
Anyway, it's all a little critique and suggestions, don't take it wrong, the mod is great Good work, keep it up

Love the addon! Just have one question/request. Is it possible to change the transparency of the two heath bars to make them darker?

I found that sometimes, you get exp form killing a mob but the exp information is not appearing. I think it happens when the text "Target low on health" appears and then you quickly kill the mob, so the mod doesn't have time to show the exp text because the "target low on health" is still there. I test it several times and I think that is the problem. Any fix for this? You can always speed up the scrolling, so that "Target low on health" goes fast, but that way you can't see other combat text as they scroll fast too.

In fact, could you make that the "target low on health" info is optional? Doesn't give me much information as I am already seeing the mob health. Or at least, put it in a different windows from exp gaining info so that this doesn't happen

UI Error on weapon swap

Just hit 15 and every time I try to use weapon swap I encounter this error.

[IMG][/IMG]

UPDATE
After more searching I found this info:

"I think this happens when one of your hotbars is not completely full. Try slotting 5 abilities on both bars and see if the issue persists. I’ll fix this in a later version for sure, but for the time being, filling both bars should solve the error".

This worked.

we've encountered some strange behavior with FTC in coldharbour quest line and coldharbour 4 player dungeon were buff and debuff didn't show (long buff were showing though).

Buff and Debuff showed again after leaving said zones. Strange =/

Adjustable hp option?

I tried this mod out and loved all the information it presents you but I ultimately had to uninstall it because the hp/magicka/stamina bars were really hard for me to see. They were small and I kept dying/getting close to dying because I had trouble monitoring my hp. If we could adjust the size and position of these bars, or just turn them off and use default bars, that would be awesome.

Amazing addon and I'm very grateful to Atropos.

One thing I do not understand is why the listing of buff names was removed? It is now often impossible to tell what buffs/debuffs are on a target because there is no corresponding icon. Also, as far as I can tell, there is no way for a new player to know what icon corresponds to what buff name. Effectively, that means now the addon only supports nameplates and combat text, not buff information, long short or otherwise.

If you could return that functionality, even if it optional, that would be perfect!

Thank you for all you hard effort. I assure you I am a lot more grateful than Zenimax appear to be of your longstanding efforts...

Love the add on and a big THANK YOU for all the work you put it into it. Greatly appreciated!

I have a minor request/question - I very much want to remove number values from bars, or at least tweak them to reduce the font size. They are too big and bold for me.

Is there an option to do this? If not would you consider a remove and/or font change options? Thanks!

I heard that this add on can track short term buffs underneath your HP bar.

However for me it only displays long term buffs in the bottom right of my screen. I have enable buffs activated and tried to reload UI. It is still not displaying them. I also updated to the most recent patch version. Is there something I need to do to activate short buffs or perhaps there is a setting I have that is interfering with the functions used to estimate short term buffs?

Thank you in advance

Please, make it at least optional
