No numbers

Sorry, but I am still not getting my companion's health numbers on their health bar, no matter what.

I tried deleting the saved variables for this addon, incase the update required it.
I tried just disabling Azurah to see if anything would happen.
I tried disabling ALL my addons except this one incase another addon was conflicting somehow.
I tried turning resource numbers on and off each time I did one of the above.

I did not get any numbers to display on the standard Gamepad UI health bar with any of these.

The only time they worked were when I enabled the use custom companion frame option.

I don't know how you got the results in your second screenshot, but I'm not able to see those numbers.

I've cleaned up the code for the Player Role Indicator integration, and dealt with the missing companion icon in the icon selection.

Turns out I had originally only added it to my version of PRI directly for testing. Now that will be fixed for next update.

However, I am working on doing a complete rewrite of of the companion health frames. My intent is to be able to activate and switch between the types without having to reload.
This will also make it easier to add additional frame styles later, if desired. It will also make it so the BUI frame style can be active without having to activate BUI group frame. However, BUI will still be required in order to change settings, and it will use the default BUI frame settings if BUI settings for frames have not been adjusted.
The reason I am keeping this method is to keep the companion frame in sync with the group frame.

With that said, I could post an update without the changes to the frames, including the color pickers in settings, to get the PRI integration updated. I'll only do that by request.

That was definitely not intentional. I ended up adding the disabled state some time after I had already made it all functional.
The next update this will be fixed. I have it already done on my said. The submenu will now say "Requires Player Role Indicator", so it will be seen whether or not it is installed.

As for the default Icon, I'll have to look into that. It looks like something I'll really have to dig into. In order to add the Companion to PRI's options, I rebuilt the entire list of options but not the function used to create the submenus, which is used by each category.
I guess, for now, if it needs to be reset, you can delete the PlayerRoleIndicator.lua file in \SavedVariables folderor thru minon. (loged out or at character select)

Are the "Companion" options that appear in the "Player Role Indicator" addon done via this addon? If so, there is a tiny oversight - not a bug, just a teeny omission - that being, if you change the icon over your companion there is no option to get back the default icon back. I had to go into Minion and delete saved variables for both mods to reset the icon - not a big issue, but having the default icon as a choice in-game would be much easier so no-one has to redo all the setting in these mods just to get an icon back. Cheers.

Nice!

Liking the next update. With regards the Gamepad UI health bar that appears for companions, which is notable wider than the kb/m bar, if possible can you allow us to drag the optional text value so it can be positioned atop the bar and have font options - size and type? I use the Futura Condensed font where possible, to give my UI a smooth look, and have had to ask a couple of mod authors to support that font because their only used the dull default Arial looking font. Here's a snap of my current layout.

The next update will have several functionality improvements.
Improved the visual of the BUI fancy frame. The Shield overlay now properly displays it's "gloss".

When the Companion frame options submenu is opened, the companion frame will show.
Closing the submenu or options will refresh the frame and, reset the shield overlay to 0 .

Color options for the Health bar and Shield overlay gradients.
On "Accepting" a color option, the appropriate bar will be update. If it's the shield overlay, it will fill the bar to 80% in order to see how the change will look.

I got that one in my guild discord too. Chances are, it is whats causing the other issues for it.
Again, I overlooked something. Since most of the testing I've done involves the frames, and that requires the reload, the other settings I've tested only after the reload.

"companionFrames.lua:139" is "self.companionUnit:Refresh()"
But it doesn't exist unless the companion frame is enabled and reloaded. I'm up for some rewriting.
I"m going to need to go back and make these "objects" more dynamic.

The mod doesn't seem to work at all for me now. Once I toggle Enable on, none of the other options will do anything they don't toggle at all, transparency bar does nothing, etc. Bug Catcher is flagging stuff too. Will paste, if it helps.

The "Companion Indicator" dropdown has never worked, in 2.1 or this version, is greyed out. Not sure what it does, so just mentioning incase.

Oh, it says "The latest version of this file is currently awaiting approval from a file admin. You can download a previous (older) version from the archive." That explains Minion.

I'm working on changing up the health values.
The new plan is to functions like this.

if game Combat settings Resource Numbers set to off
  • and if Azurah settings are set to show resource values it will use the Azurah format to show normal or fancy
  • else if BUI settings are set to show resource numbers then it will use a similar format to the Azurah ones, but defined locally.
else it will show the health values set by Combat settings Resource Numbers
