CQuestTracker  Updated this week!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.1.6
by: Calamath [More]
Description:
This add-on provides a traditional MMORPG style multiple quest tracker, distributed under the Artistic License 2.0
In designing an alternative for the standard focus quest tracker, there are three things we wanted to improve with this add-on.

(1)To improve playability when you want to progress through the zone story and surrounding side quests in parallel.
(2)Provide a way to freely select which quests you want to see in the tracker without having to hit the T key repeatedly.
(3)Provide a different quest tracker option for new players who have migrated from other MMORPGs.

- If you are familiar with other MMORPG titles, are you looking for such a multiple quest tracker?

Needed libraries/dependencies:
YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE FOLLOWING LIBRARIES SEPARATELY.
- LibCInteraction (Bundled library)
- LibAddonMenu (Version 2.0r36 or later)
- LibCustumMenu (Version 7.2.2 or later)
- LibMediaProvider (Version 1.0 r30 or later)

Features:
- Display up to 15 quests based on character's recent quest-related activities.
- Pin your favorite quest to show all the time.
- Each quest can be hidden by ignore settings.
- Display optional steps and hints for quests.
- Quest Timer integration
- Improved functionality of the "Cycle Focused Quest" key
- Quest Ping Navigation - It works well with Votan's Minimap and AUI's minimap.

Tracker panel customization:
- panel visual options - title bar color / background color.
- Font options - font style / size / weight / color.
- Visibility options - in combat / in game menu scenes / in battleground.

This add-on is designed to be used in conjunction with the standard quest tracker and other quest tracker add-ons without conflicting with them.

I have no intention to make a variant of the mod. As for going back to the other version, I have this running atm with the fixes and it is running fine so I don't really have a intention to do that right now. I just wanted to get it running since the version that was released wasn't working.

Curather,
I would like to discuss only the behavioral issues you pointed out in the standard version, not the code you modified.
I am not able to reproduce the problem you mentioned in my environment.
Could you please reinstall this add-on and reproduce the problem with the original code?

You will need to help me reproduce it.
You do not have to change the code.

We will not stop you from creating variants of this add-on for your personal enjoyment.
However, please NEVER redistribute the variants to others.
Your modified code is no longer compatible with the original save data.

Thanks.

What I changed to get it to work

The bug was when you change to "Custom" The custom area would still be disabled. This was for both font options. Furthermore, when fixing that bug because it was changing the value to "Custom" instead of "custom", the font would not render for quest info area. The font sizes would not change. I did delete the save data and see if that fixed it and still had the issue. I just changed the code to get it to work and that seemed to fix it.

So what did I change, I changed your GetFontDescriptor function to just grab the LMP font
Code:
	local function GetFontDescriptor(font)
		if font[FONT_WEIGHT] and font[FONT_WEIGHT] ~= "normal" then
			return string.format("%s|%s|%s", LMP:Fetch("font", font[FONT_TYPE]), font[FONT_SIZE], font[FONT_WEIGHT])
		else
			return string.format("%s|%s", LMP:Fetch("font", font[FONT_TYPE]), font[FONT_SIZE])
		end
	end
I also edited the option for the FONT_TYPE in the menu and just have it push the LMP fonts,
Code:
optionsData[#optionsData + 1] = {
		type = "dropdown",
		name = L(SI_CQT_UI_COMMON_FONTTYPE_MENU_NAME),
		tooltip = L(SI_CQT_UI_QUEST_NAME_FONTTYPE_MENU_TIPS),
		choices = fontStyleChoices,
		getFunc = function() return self.svCurrent.qhFont[FONT_TYPE] end,
		setFunc = function(typeStr)
			self.svCurrent.qhFont[FONT_TYPE] = typeStr
			self:UpdateTrackerPanelAttribute("headerFont", GetFontDescriptor(self.svCurrent.qhFont))
		end,
		scrollable = 15,
		default = CQT_SV_DEFAULT.qhFont[FONT_TYPE],
	}
I did the same for the other option as well editing FONT_TYPE and removing the styling custom option
Code:
optionsData[#optionsData + 1] = {
		type = "dropdown",
		name = L(SI_CQT_UI_COMMON_FONTTYPE_MENU_NAME),
		tooltip = L(SI_CQT_UI_QUEST_CONDITION_FONTTYPE_MENU_TIPS),
		choices = fontStyleChoices,
		getFunc = function() return self.svCurrent.qcFont[FONT_TYPE] end,
		setFunc = function(typeStr)
			self.svCurrent.qcFont[FONT_TYPE] = typeStr
			self:UpdateTrackerPanelAttribute("conditionFont", GetFontDescriptor(self.svCurrent.qcFont))
		end,
		scrollable = 15,
		default = CQT_SV_DEFAULT.qcFont[FONT_TYPE],
	}
Next, I went into the function CQT_TrackerPanel:Initialize(control, attrib) function and set the default to one of the LMP fonts and set the font size instead of the $ variable font since it wasn't working on my end

Code:
function CQT_TrackerPanel:Initialize(control, attrib)
	self.attrib = {
		compactMode = false,
		offsetX = 400,
		offsetY = 300,
		width = 400,
		height = 600,
		defaultIndent = 30,
		defaultSpacing = 0,
		headerFont = "ESO Standard Font|18|soft-shadow-thick",
		headerColor = { GetInterfaceColor(INTERFACE_COLOR_TYPE_TEXT_COLORS, INTERFACE_TEXT_COLOR_NORMAL) },
		headerColorSelected = { GetInterfaceColor(INTERFACE_COLOR_TYPE_TEXT_COLORS, INTERFACE_TEXT_COLOR_SELECTED) },
		headerChildIndent = 30,
		headerChildSpacing = 0,
		conditionFont = "ESO Standard Font|15|soft-shadow-thick",
		conditionColor = { GetInterfaceColor(INTERFACE_COLOR_TYPE_TEXT_COLORS, INTERFACE_TEXT_COLOR_SELECTED) },
		conditionChildIndent = 0,
		conditionChildSpacing = 0,
		showOptionalStep = true,
		showHintStep = true,
		hintColor = { GetInterfaceColor(INTERFACE_COLOR_TYPE_TEXT_COLORS, INTERFACE_TEXT_COLOR_SELECTED) },
		bgColor = { ZO_ColorDef:New(0, 0, 0, 0):UnpackRGBA() },
	}
I then went into CQT_SV_DEFAULT and changed the font default settings there:

Code:
local CQT_SV_DEFAULT = {
	accountWide = true,
	hideFocusedQuestTracker = false,
	hideCQuestTracker = false,
	maxNumDisplay = 5,
	maxNumPinnedQuest = 5,
	panelAttributes = {
		compactMode = false,
		offsetX = 400,
		offsetY = 300,
		width = 400,
		height = 600,
		headerFont = "ESO Standard Font|18|soft-shadow-thick",
		headerColor = { GetInterfaceColor(INTERFACE_COLOR_TYPE_TEXT_COLORS, INTERFACE_TEXT_COLOR_NORMAL) },
		headerColorSelected = { GetInterfaceColor(INTERFACE_COLOR_TYPE_TEXT_COLORS, INTERFACE_TEXT_COLOR_SELECTED) },
		conditionFont = "ESO Standard Font|15|soft-shadow-thick",
		conditionColor = { GetInterfaceColor(INTERFACE_COLOR_TYPE_TEXT_COLORS, INTERFACE_TEXT_COLOR_SELECTED) },
		showHintStep = true,
		hintColor = { GetInterfaceColor(INTERFACE_COLOR_TYPE_TEXT_COLORS, INTERFACE_TEXT_COLOR_SELECTED) },
		bgColor = { ZO_ColorDef:New(0, 0, 0, 0):UnpackRGBA() },
	},
	qhFont = {
		[FONT_TYPE] = "ESO Standard Font",
		[FONT_STYLE] = "",
		[FONT_SIZE] = "18",
		[FONT_WEIGHT] = "soft-shadow-thick",
	},
	qcFont = {
		[FONT_TYPE] = "ESO Standard Font)",
		[FONT_STYLE] = "",
		[FONT_SIZE] = "15",
		[FONT_WEIGHT] = "soft-shadow-thick",
	},

It would be helpful if you could report the bug in detail.
Please write down the steps to reproduce the bug.

If you want to change to a custom font, you must first set the Font Type to 'Custom'
Then, select a custom font from the list of fonts provided by LibMediaProvider.
There are no plans to merge the font selection menus into a single drop-down menu.

P.S.
I checked the latest version, and it doesn't seem to have any problems.

Hi Curather,
As you can see a stub in the source code, we will improve font customizing shortly.
Please try version 1.1.1 or later.

Please consider adding in additional font support using the LibMediaProvider library. It pulls in more than just 2 fonts. It is much appreciated 💖

To do this:

Code:
local fontList = LMP:List('font')
local fontStyles = {"normal", "outline", "shadow", "soft-shadow-thick", "soft-shadow-thin", "thick-outline"}
Then in the actual menu, change the choices to
Code:
choices = fontList,
for fonts, and

Code:
choices = fontStyles,
for the styles.

And finally to reference it in the mod,

Code:
:SetFont(("%s|%s|%s"):format(LMP:Fetch('font', YOURMOD.SV.HPBAR_FONT), YOURMOD.SV.HPBAR_FONT_SIZE, YOURMOD.SV.HPBAR_FONT_STYLE))

Yes thank you. It wasn't mentioned in the addon description, so I didn't see this option before installation...

Anyway, nice lightweight addon. The only caveat is that it would be great to add the ability to lock the position of the task tracking panel. And at the same time, hide the addon settings and quest list buttons along with the addon background when the cursor is called.
I'm glad you like this add-on, K1nor.
In cursor mode, we have decided to keep the title bar visible.
Because if you choose not to show any quests in the panel, there will be no way to change the panel settings without a button in the title bar.

I understand your opinion that the panel title bar is a bit too prominent.
But maybe you'll get used to seeing it.

This add-on has been in the works for a very long time, much longer than you can imagine.

If possible, I'd like you to use 'show in combat' option. ;-)

There may be some misunderstandings about this one, so let's communicate a bit.
The function to hide only in CQuestTracker is 'ignore'.
In that case, the quest will still be accepted and you can progress, complete, or abandon it.

Are you referring to the fact that there is no 'abandon quest' function in the quest list submenu combo box?

I found function RULE_OUT_QUEST when i made translation, and think that it is function to remove quest from the list right now, but not prevent it to apeear there in future, if it not intended like this, i can live with ignore.
Also answered you comment on github.
BTW: My discord is always on for fast communication
Oh, thank you so much. I understand now.
The string RULE_OUT_QUEST is deprecated, as a matter of fact.

The RULE_OUT_QUEST feature to exclude specific quest from the quest tracker was subdivided into IGNORING_QUEST and MOST_LOWER_QUEST.
In conclusion, there is no missing feature for that.

BTW: I add russian loc on github, cos its to big to post here
Hi wartime,
First of all, thanks for the Russian translation. It is much appreciated.
I also checked the pull request on GitHub and wrote a comment.

Regarding the tracker display color, there are future plans to make the display color configurable.
As for the highlight color, it requires a change in the label template, which was not planned, but I will consider it.
In any case, please give me some time. This add-on has just recently been published.
