Same for me. Crashes game since recent patch. Might have to do the Reshade workaround, because I simply can't enjoy the game with all that fog.

Same here. I had other issues that I addressed first, and then the last thing I did after making sure the game and all of my addons worked properly was to come here and try the fog mod again. Nope. Crashes before I even finish logging in.

Good news, I found a workaround. Install Reshade version 5.1.0 (w/ addon support if you want depth buffer too). This will stop all the crashing, and the fog mod works again.
You´re my hero of the day :-)

Version 1.2r1 does not seem to be working properly for me; it appears to be ignoring my chosen setting (5). When I revert to 1.1 and apply a non-default setting like 5, it works as intended. The difference is noticeable before I even leave the character select screen.

The Spindleclutch fog is definitely something I would like to see fixed, but not at the expense of my chosen fog depth for everywhere else

Thank you for this mod!

I spent an awful lot of time making comparisons between the different ranges in different areas of the game, and I have found that 6x is the sweet spot of view distance of the land, while still maintaining the atmosphere of the sky, particularly sunrises and sunsets, as well as hiding the really crappy backgrounds / holes in the landscape..

ReShade has an addon for it that helped me a lot with the testing, but its basically on vs off, and I still had to do a full restart if I wanted to change the fog distance settings.

Releasing the new version now with proper fog reduction in spindleclutch. Enjoy!

You can simply update the file in "ShaderAddOns" folder as no other files were changed.

REVERTED TO OLD VERSION. 1.2 has bugs!

1.2r1 Released after fixing the bug!

I tried 10, 8, and 5. The latter seems to be the ideal mix for me!

Normal fog distance would be 1.

The number corresponds to a multiplier of the base distances.

Code:
 r0.x = g_fogDistances.x * -2 + r0.x; // Distance for fog
Example for multiplier 2 shown.

Distance 4

Also if 4 is a desirable distance I can add a few more options in that range. 4, 6, 7
