This addon modifies the GuildChat to include pertinent character information about the guild member speaking

Currently tracks three things:

Guild Rank
Level (in square brackets) and Faction (in colour)

Hello,

When you use another addon (pChat) who rewrite Guild member names, you need to use "Account name" option instead of "Character name".

Here we cannot split the string because it's another addon who rewrite the whole thing.
But I'll look at it.

Ayantir Forum posts: 1019 File comments: 1531 Uploads: 31	Hi, Even if I never looked at Guild Chat from now (my bad ), I'll try to fix pchat compatibility (it's not really hard in fact). with Guild Chat. Just note , because of many addons handling chat is not really easy to manage, timestamps will not be added in guild chat (guild chat is intended to improve your guild(s) chat, and not the chat itself). But other features are nices and will be keeped.

Makes it MUCH easier when a level 40 character asks for food, or someone asks for a healer in an undaunted dungeon and I can see info about who is asking! I uninstalled pchat a while ago because I just felt like I had too many add-ons and I was having some game issues, so I cleaned out any I thought I could live without. It would be INCREDIBLE if the functionality of being able to shorten guild names and maybe even time-stamps from p-chat could be included in a single add on. Also Pchat used to let me copy text, and then it stopped working, and now I've found myself installing a NEW add on to get that back.

About the timestamps:
pChat adds timestamps and works together with this addon, also very usefull to shorten the Guilds names

Yes I noticed is redundant to have them both working.

Now I have a little request/feedback would it be possible to add a simple EP/AD/DC near the level to show the alliance instead of coloring the accname or charname with class and the level with alliance?

Like:
V12(white for templar)DC-charname@accname
Instead of:
V12(blue for DC)-charname(white for templar)@accname

Its simply because, when you have 5 trade guilds and people start linking items, the charnames being completely coloured for classes (those arghonian names are really long..) and the level for alliance makes the chat too colourful.

Maybe you can enable/disable the alliance text, and then being able to configure a colour for it? So people can keep using the way it works now colouring the names for classes.

All options can be coloured the way you want it. Check the addon settings. So if u want V12 based on class colour, you can set it in the settings. A 2 letter notation for the alliance can be added, but atm preparing addons for the new patch, so i'll see when i get around doing it.

I know all options can be coloured, but If I change the level "V12" colour to match the class colour, then Im forced to colour either the charname or accname with the alliance colour If I want to know it.

Adding an AD/EP/DC one could still know alliance without adding more colours to the chat, or even chose to colour the two digits (even if you dont need it with the AD/EP/DC text) instead of charname@accname.
