Version: 2.4.46
by: Kith, Garkin, Phinix, Sounomi
Azurah

(PM Phinix with improved translations!)

REQUIRED LIBRARIES: LibAddonMenu LibMediaProvider

PLEASE HELP! I've still been dealing with my 28 year old brother passing and now my father is in the hospital with a major stroke that has paralyzed his entire left side. My disability was reduced to $629 randomly, and trying to make it between Medford where he is and here (about 100 miles one-way) is tough. I need to be with him though. If there is anything you can do to help it would mean a lot. I am really struggling not to be overwhelmed and stay hopeful, but it is hard and I am feeling very much alone. (5-14-24)
IMPORTANT NOTE: If the action bar or other items are not saving position when moving in gamepad mode, you MUST /reloadui after changing modes before Azurah will work! This is due to a game engine limitation where internal references that share names are not updated completely until a reload (see Misc section of Azurah's general tab.) Azurah has an option to automatically reload when swapping modes.

UPDATE: Azurah is now fully compatible with Harvest Map, including the Spawned Resource Filter options, even if you move or resize the compass!

Description:
Azurah enhances the interface by providing additional information and customization options while maintaining most of the stock look and feel of the game's standard UI.

Current Features:
  • NEW: Added Action Bar options to block activation of Mage Light & Expert Hunter (and morphs).
  • NEW: Added a new option "Compass Label Position" to change vertical position of the label text relative to the compass.
  • NEW: Fully customize the compass including moving and resizing, while being fully compatible with Harvest Map!
  • NEW: Separately configure in-combat and out of combat opacity levels for all modified frames.
  • NEW: 'Undo Changes' button and right-click ability to undo changes to single windows since unlock.
  • Unlock the interface windows allowing them to be moved anywhere on the screen and scaled in size.
  • Set a minimum level of transparency for your attributes or have them always shown.
  • Lock the size of your attributes so food no longer makes them larger.
  • Display text overlays showing your and your target's attributes.
  • Show an overlay displaying your current level of Ultimate power.
  • Colour the target's health bar, name and level by its reaction to you, or its expected difficulty.
  • Show target player's class icon (and alliance icon) beside their name
  • Show other players by character name or @account name (or both) and other options.
  • Set an overlay for your experience bar as well as setting it to always be shown.
  • Several options to block accidental stealing when not fully hidden to avoid unwanted bounty.
  • Show when your backpack's contents change with extra options to warn you when your bag is nearly full.
  • Show a timer for the remaining duration of your Werewolf transformation.
  • Ability to enable account wide settings to apply the same choices to all characters on your account.

All of the above features include several options for personalization accessed from the Addon Settings menu under Azurah.
Additionally, the ability to unlock the interface for movement can be accessed via the chat window using the slash commands:

/azurah unlock = unlock UI for movement
/azurah save = lock UI and save positions
/azurah undo = undo all pending changes
/azurah exit = lock UI without saving

Feature for devs:
Warning: Spoiler
Hi all, I’m back and working on addons again. Times are tough and I am desperately in need of financial support at the moment dealing with disability due to a bleeding brain cavernoma and other expenses on less than $600 monthly fixed income. If anyone can help, or knows anyone that can help, or can possibly feature some of my work on their stream to help drive support my way, I would be immensely grateful. It will help me to continue to bring cool content and updates to you all!

Normally if you switch modes, position changes made in Azurah for that mode will be continually reset until manually reloading the UI. This is a workaround for a default UI behavior. - The target's veteran icon will now remain in the same place and the target class icon will adjust itself around it instead.

Azurah finally seems to have broken completely.

It's been giving errors since the recent update. And now it's got to the point it won't save my UI changes at all. I do the /reloadui as instructed, and it erases all my changes back to the default UI.

The tooltip tries to explain this, which is also why there is an option to automatically reload the UI when changing modes (not toggling cursor but the actual setting).

Try going into options, making sure gamepad mode is set and reloading. Azurah should then let you modify gamepad mode positions for the frames it supports. Toggling to cursor mode to use the mouse for selection doesn't effect this. I am unaware of any errors as I edited gamepad mode options extensively during testing for the compass change and other features, but it is possible something changes with the patch. If you can post the text of the error it might help see what's happening.
It's probably because I had it set in "automatic" on the setting.

I set the HUD up when I first installed Azurah, and the moment I pushed the L-stick on the gamepad, it jumped to something different, with seemingly different scale on stuff.

I ended up having to do the following.

Setting one HUD while in Automatic, for when I use Mouse/Keyboard (such as while typing or using some craft stations).
I then had to set a second HUD with gamepad set to ON, to mirror the one in Automatic as much as I possibly could.

Switching back to Automatic, it is now relatively the same when I use a Gamepad to move around and fight. And switching to keyboard for moments.

I don't have to reloadui, which was a serious pain if I had to every time I wanted to touch my keyboard and do anything at all.

I haven't tried Cursor Mode, but honestly if it's like XIV's with using a joystick on the controller, I'd much rather continue using my actual PC mouse for better control. But the method I listed above has been working well for me so far.

The only issue is, I can't seem to adjust certain parts of the HUD for the gamepad, as when Gamepad is set to On, they are nonexistent on the screen. Mostly an issue when the Queued thing appears for a dungeon. I managed to move the one so it was properly visible in M/K mode, but the Gamepad side doesn't have that box anywhere in that vicinity to move. So it's hidden behind a Quest tracker I had to put there, while in M/K mode, it's above the tracker.

But that's more of a minor inconvenience really, since as far as I can tell the window just displays Queued and no other information.

Edit: On a side note, the recent update seems to have broken it a bit. When you go to Unlock UI windows in the settings, it has some error about a target controller and GUIRoot, and the little window for Locking/Saving the UI doesn't appear.

The blue HUD boxes remain on the screen until I tap the controller to get out of M/K mode, you can't make them disappear otherwise, unless there is a / command for it I'm unaware of.

Large group box in gamepad mode

Hi Phinix. Am I correct in that Azurah does not support the large group box in gamepad mode. Maybe any group area large or small? Thanks.

How am I supposed to edit the Gamepad UI with this? It keeps switching to Keyboard/Mouse mode while I try to use the Mouse to adjust stuff, then nothing at all is adjusted in the Gamepad mode.

Edit: It just seems literally impossible to do anything with the Gamepad UI. Going into Gamepad mode and then using a keyboard to enter the command to unlock shows the elements, but you then have no mouse to move them around, and it throws up errors in the Mover.lua if you try.

Hello! Your mods are awesome, thanks!

I have a question about compass becoming a boss bar, is it possible to disable that from happening with Azurah? I've been trying to figure that out but I didn't find an answer yet, so I am wondering

I think I can confirm all of this.

I was always using the "Lock UI (Save)" button, but that was never the issue to begin with.

Looks like the problems arise as a conflict between Azurah and AUI's "Frame Mover" Module... which makes sense. Unlikely for multiple frame mover addons to play well together.

I have disabled the AUI module (probably got enabled inadvertantly in the course of updating to ESO u34... several things got "reset" as a consequence of that update). Things seem to be working now.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Two Problems

@acapela - I honestly don't think the problem you describe is related to Azurah. I just tested unlocking, moving the bounty frame, saving, then reloading, and the position is maintained fine with no errors. Here's a quick video:

Are you sure you are pressing the "Lock UI (Save)" button and not the "Exit Without Saving" button?

Regarding the "TopLevelControl cannot be parented to any control but GuiRoot" error, this is most likely another addon triggering this as all Azurah frames should be set to either Control or have GuiRoot as parent if they are a TopLevelControl. This was a change in the game's API that was addressed during the PTS cycle.

With the full text of the error it may be possible to guess which addon is actually causing the issue as it is likely referenced further down the stack. It is not uncommon for an addon to generate an error, then subsequent calls to shared functions by other working addons cause their name in turn to appear in the generated error.

I am uncertain of any saved variable corruption that could occur to cause the specific errors you are seeing. A frame is either set to TopLevelControl or not, and that is not something stored in saved variables but set in LUA/XML of the addon itself.

I would try completely deleting your \Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\Azurah folder and re-downloading to make sure all the contained files are at the latest version. Make sure the game is closed when you do this. After that, if you have disabled everything but Azurah and it's dependencies and still get errors, you could try moving your \Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables\Azurah.lua to a backup location (again with the game closed) and let it regenerate your saved variables.

I suspect another addon or corrupt Azurah install however more than anything with saved variables.

Two Problems

Update:

Yeah, looks like a conflict between Azurah and AUI's "Frame Mover" module. The AUI module seems to have been enabled inadvertently as a consequence of updating to ESO u34.

(I had honestly forgotten it even existed. It became "visible" after disabling all addons except Azurah, and re-enabling them one at a time to see when the "problem" with Azurah began to manifest.)

It was always unlikely that multiple frame mover addons were going to play well together. I have disabled the AUI module, and everything is working much better.

Thanks.

----------

I am on Windows (10 Pro x64), playing on PC/NA, using the most recent live client (High Isle, Update 34, etc).

I am seeing two problems:

1) Azurah is not letting me change/save window positions. Specifically, I am trying to move the Bounty Display. The changed position persists for the rest of the UI "session", but is reset to the default whenever I relog or /reloadui.

2) I am encountering an intermittent (but more often than not) "UI Error" dialog/popup when I relog or /reloadui. The error message reads "TopLevelControl cannot be parented to any control but GuiRoot." When this is displayed (at the beginning of a UI session), and I try to "Unlock UI Windows" using Azurah, the windows appear as if available to move but Azurah's central "UI Unlocked" dialog does not appear, so there is no "Lock UI (Save)" button, etc.

I am not observing problems with any other addons at the moment (a few quit working with Update 34, and I have already disabled those). I have tried disabling all addons except Azurah and the libraries it says it needs. This does not affect either of these problems (may I assume the culprit in 2) above is Azurah itself? I will try disabling all addons, and see if I can reproduce at least the error popup).

(Also tried reinstalling Azurah, v2.4.40... no effect on either problem.)

I have no guesses regarding 2) above... but 1) above smells like a "saved variables corruption" issue. But before I jump through a bunch of hoops (deleting/reinstalling addons, deleting/reconfiguring saved variables, etc), has anyone else seen anything like this, or have any suggestions what could be causing it, what workarounds to attempt, etc?

Thanks.

There appears to be a new but minor issue with the Ultimate gamepad keybinds not showing on login without switching to kb/m mode and back. Did ZoS dick about with the code for keybind displays again for High Isle when adding that half-baked accessibility mode? If so, it might be causing a slight issue to the fixes you made a couple of months back. The binds also can disappear after pressing the Esc key to access the menu options.
