Version: 2.4.45
by: Kith, Garkin, Phinix, Sounomi
Azurah

(PM Phinix with improved translations!)

REQUIRED LIBRARIES: LibAddonMenu LibMediaProvider

IMPORTANT NOTE: If the action bar or other items are not saving position when moving in gamepad mode, you MUST /reloadui after changing modes before Azurah will work! This is due to a game engine limitation where internal references that share names are not updated completely until a reload (see Misc section of Azurah's general tab.) Azurah has an option to automatically reload when swapping modes.

UPDATE: Azurah is now fully compatible with Harvest Map, including the Spawned Resource Filter options, even if you move or resize the compass!

Description:
Azurah enhances the interface by providing additional information and customization options while maintaining most of the stock look and feel of the game's standard UI.

Current Features:
  • NEW: Added Action Bar options to block activation of Mage Light & Expert Hunter (and morphs).
  • NEW: Added a new option "Compass Label Position" to change vertical position of the label text relative to the compass.
  • NEW: Fully customize the compass including moving and resizing, while being fully compatible with Harvest Map!
  • NEW: Separately configure in-combat and out of combat opacity levels for all modified frames.
  • NEW: 'Undo Changes' button and right-click ability to undo changes to single windows since unlock.
  • Unlock the interface windows allowing them to be moved anywhere on the screen and scaled in size.
  • Set a minimum level of transparency for your attributes or have them always shown.
  • Lock the size of your attributes so food no longer makes them larger.
  • Display text overlays showing your and your target's attributes.
  • Show an overlay displaying your current level of Ultimate power.
  • Colour the target's health bar, name and level by its reaction to you, or its expected difficulty.
  • Show target player's class icon (and alliance icon) beside their name
  • Show other players by character name or @account name (or both) and other options.
  • Set an overlay for your experience bar as well as setting it to always be shown.
  • Several options to block accidental stealing when not fully hidden to avoid unwanted bounty.
  • Show when your backpack's contents change with extra options to warn you when your bag is nearly full.
  • Show a timer for the remaining duration of your Werewolf transformation.
  • Ability to enable account wide settings to apply the same choices to all characters on your account.

All of the above features include several options for personalization accessed from the Addon Settings menu under Azurah.
Additionally, the ability to unlock the interface for movement can be accessed via the chat window using the slash commands:

/azurah unlock = unlock UI for movement
/azurah save = lock UI and save positions
/azurah undo = undo all pending changes
/azurah exit = lock UI without saving

Feature for devs:
Warning: Spoiler
Hi all, I’m back and working on addons again. Times are tough and I am desperately in need of financial support at the moment dealing with disability due to a bleeding brain cavernoma and other expenses on less than $600 monthly fixed income. If anyone can help, or knows anyone that can help, or can possibly feature some of my work on their stream to help drive support my way, I would be immensely grateful. It will help me to continue to bring cool content and updates to you all!

Normally if you switch modes, position changes made in Azurah for that mode will be continually reset until manually reloading the UI. This is a workaround for a default UI behavior. - The target's veteran icon will now remain in the same place and the target class icon will adjust itself around it instead.

@julivity - Thanks! I'm not familiar with Kofi... Is there something it does different than Paypal? Like accept bitcoins or something? I have Paypal and Patreon links on the donation tab but I will look into Kofi if people prefer it over those.

I just posted an update which moves the saved variable mode-based sub-table init check from Unlock.lua to Core.lua just after saved variables are initialized. This should resolve any rare errors that might occur on first load of Azurah or possibly on mode swap if the mode being switched to has never been modified, or after deleting/modifying the Azurah saved variables file.

If the problem persists even with this update, check the file permissions on \Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables\Azurah.lua and make sure it is not Read Only, and that you have permission to modify the file. However I am fairly certain 2.4.33 should fix this for you.

@MarcusUK - Will do, thanks for the update.
Hey thanks for the quick response. It was my first set up and i disabled most other ui modifying addo ns i had in but the new patch fixed my issue

No worries. I've been watching it closely over the last couple of days, across a few characters in various locations and haven't experienced any issues at all, looks solid. Think you can mark that issue as resolved.

Have tried the update and I think you've got it all sorted. I see no double icons, no icon misalignment, no issues when building ultimate, switching modes is clean, etc... looks to be working perfectly. I see you trimmed down the code I suggested earlier and adjusted a lot of the original lines to get this end result. Glad it worked out after a bit of trial and error. Thank you!

Cheers, mate. I shall give it a test shortly, just need a lunch break and eye rest then I'll update and see how it works out.

Update...

v2.4.32 ~Phinix
- Improved code for previous mode switch workaround to remove perceptible delay.
- Improved double-keybind fix to show custom gamepad bindings without also showing defaults.

Okay, I just tested this theory for you. I went into Controls and reset both the Keyboard and Gamepad bindings back to default. Here's the result:

It would appear that the fix I made displays the game's default binds just in a slightly different way, central to the Ult icons rather than in the corners. Which is all anyone really needs to know what the binds are.

However, there are issues with my fix, per the updates I have been adding to my last comment.

Re: Update: Fixes & new features.

@MarcusUK - I appreciate the research. As you can see however, eliminating the double button bind display is problematic to say the least. In addition to your findings, also consider that even if you rebind your ultimate to a custom button combo, the game hard codes the default keybinds. This means some people will not want those hidden, since they still work.

Also consider, if you hide the default buttons but a user doesn't have any custom button bindings. Now their ultimate simply shows no button bindings at all. There is not a reliable and efficient way to check if the user has a custom keybind for their ultimate, and if this binding it a keyboard bind or a gamepad bind. So, how to deal with these scenarios?

Yes you can just hide the default bindings all the time, but since the game doesn't actually show you what these are under the Controls section for gamepad, it will cause a lot of problems for users who keep the default binds not able to see what they actually are.

Don't ask me how, but I've fixed it by using alias functions that I found digging through https://esoapi.uesp.net/current/index.html (the documentation here is abysmal, idk how you modders manage)... anyhow, just dicking about for a while with your code somehow I got this desired result. Here's the code I'm using with changed/new parts highlighted, see what you make of it as it might be crude and require streamlining, I don't really understand LUA so I can't tell how optimal this is, just a bit of experience in PHP lets me edit functions to see what happens. In this case, something seems to have worked...

Code:
function Azurah:ConfigureActionBarElements()
	ZO_ActionBar1WeaponSwap:SetAlpha(db.hideWeaponSwap and 0 or 1)
	ZO_ActionBar1WeaponSwapLock:SetAlpha(db.hideWeaponSwap and 0 or 1)
	ZO_ActionBar1KeybindBG:SetAlpha(db.hideBindBG and 0 or 1)

	for x = 3, 9 do
		if (x ~= 8) then
			_G['ActionButton' .. x .. 'ButtonText']:SetAlpha(db.hideBindText and 0 or 1)
			_G['ActionButton' .. x .. 'ButtonText']:SetHidden(db.hideBindText)
		end
	end

	-- special case for hiding companion ultimate button text (Phinix)
	if (IsConsoleUI()) then
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonButtonText']:SetAlpha((db.hideBindText) and 0 or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and 1 or 0)
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonButtonText']:SetHidden((db.hideBindText) and true or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and false or true)
	else
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonButtonText']:SetAlpha(db.hideBindText and 0 or 1)
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonButtonText']:SetHidden(db.hideBindText)
	end

	if (IsInGamepadPreferredMode()) then
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonLeftKeybind']:SetAlpha((db.hideBindText) and 0 or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and 1 or 0)
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonLeftKeybind']:SetHidden((db.hideBindText) and true or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and false or true)
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonRightKeybind']:SetAlpha((db.hideBindText) and 0 or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and 1 or 0)
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonRightKeybind']:SetHidden((db.hideBindText) and true or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and false or true)
	else
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonLeftKeybind']:SetAlpha(db.hideBindText and 0 or 1)
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonLeftKeybind']:SetHidden(db.hideBindText)
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonRightKeybind']:SetAlpha(db.hideBindText and 0 or 1)
		_G['CompanionUltimateButtonRightKeybind']:SetHidden(db.hideBindText)
	end

	-- special case for hiding ultimate button text (Phinix)
	if (IsConsoleUI()) then
		_G['ActionButton8ButtonText']:SetAlpha((db.hideBindText) and 0 or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and 1 or 0)
		_G['ActionButton8ButtonText']:SetHidden((db.hideBindText) and true or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and false or true)
	else
		_G['ActionButton8ButtonText']:SetAlpha(db.hideBindText and 0 or 1)
		_G['ActionButton8ButtonText']:SetHidden(db.hideBindText)
	end

	if (IsInGamepadPreferredMode()) then
		_G['ActionButton8LeftKeybind']:SetAlpha((db.hideBindText) and 0 or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and 1 or 0)
		_G['ActionButton8LeftKeybind']:SetHidden((db.hideBindText) and true or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and false or true)
		_G['ActionButton8RightKeybind']:SetAlpha((db.hideBindText) and 0 or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and 1 or 0)
		_G['ActionButton8RightKeybind']:SetHidden((db.hideBindText) and true or (ZO_Keybindings_ShouldShowGamepadKeybind()) and false or true)
	else
		_G['ActionButton8LeftKeybind']:SetAlpha(db.hideBindText and 0 or 1)
		_G['ActionButton8LeftKeybind']:SetHidden(db.hideBindText)
		_G['ActionButton8RightKeybind']:SetAlpha(db.hideBindText and 0 or 1)
		_G['ActionButton8RightKeybind']:SetHidden(db.hideBindText)
	end
end
Result:

Ain't that a pretty sight?

Something about IsConsoleUI() vs IsInGamepadPreferredMode() or using ~LeftKeybind/~RightKeybind in the globals vs ~ButtonText versions seems to make a difference. Idk why though. I take no credit for this fix though, it was just trial, error and a lucky result.

It is a bit janky though, since you added that 1 second mode delay function it feels like it stutters a bit to update the icons... maybe reducing that to something less humanly noticable like 0.25 seconds might make the transition between modes appear smoother? Or maybe make having that delay as a setting options so people who don't have issues can disable the delay while those who do can activate it?

Thanks.

Update 1: Okay, I've found an issue with this fix, in that the default icons reappear on the outer-corners after fast-travelling, leaving a home, etc and needs a mode switch to KB/M and back to remove the double-icons. Not sure how to deal with that though.

Update 2: It would appear that while my fix removes the default binds from the Gamepad UI, it pushes them onto the KB/M UI. Very odd. Clearly not a problem for gamepad users, but not good for KB/M users.

Update 3: I noticed the double-icon issue kept appearing even when not fast-travelling. Turns out that each time the Ultimate gains 1% until it is fully charged the double icons reappear. While the Ultimate is full this does not happen except on fast travelling, instancing, etc.

That's a good thought, however I don't run the game through Steam (bought separately at launch). The controller I use is for a ps4 and not supported by Windows natively, which is why I need to run the emulator. I am guessing there is a problem with the game not recognizing what the controller actually is that is causing button mappings not to update. It actually won't even save changes I make without using Votan's Keybinder to remap them after load through saved variables.

I will see what I can do and maybe post a test version if I figure something out. If I see a cheap controller with native support on sale I'll maybe pick one up for testing.
