Filter BarsFuture Plans:
It creates filter bars with buttons that you can click to view only the items you want to see in your inventory windows. Like view only 1h axes, only medium armor, only provisioning ingredients, exc...
There are filter bars for your backpack, bank, guild bank, mail, trade, repair, enchanting extraction window, deconstruction, improvement, pattern filters for clothier station (to show only light or only medium armor patterns, also works with the set armor station patterns), and more...
Filters will turn red and become disabled if there are no items of that filter type to be displayed.
Special filters under the inventories "Show ALL" buttons:
- Filter/Show only items that have "Save For .." marks on them.
- Filter/Show only set-items.
- Filter/Show only items that your current character needs for research.
- Filter/Show only items that your other characters need for research. There is an option to allow you to choose which researchable item types (blacksmithing, woodworking, clothier, recipes) will be shown for each character under this filter so you can exclude characters/crafting skill types that you do not want to view researchable items for.
Level Filters
There is a dropdown box that contains level filters & item counts for each level filter.
In the drop down box, for level filters, it will also tell you how many items you have UNDER YOUR CURRENT INVENTORY TAB, for the given level range. For example if you have the weapons tab selected in your inventory and you see the following in the level filter drop down box:2-10 (1)Would mean there is (1) item level 2-10 under the current inventory filter (weapons)
Save For Marks
The following is a list of the current marks you can add to items (by right clicking on them)
Save for: Trading House, Trade, Vendor, Mail, Alchemy, Enchanting, Provisioning, Deconstruction, Improvement, Refinement, Research, & Save.
When an item is marked it will only show up in the window that it is marked for. This is to prevent you from selling, deconstructing, trading, mailing, exc.. an item that has been marked to be saved for another action. Items marked with the plain "Save" mark (the padlock) will only show up in the backpack, bank, & guild bank.
Two exceptions:Research Station - Items with marks other than "Save for Research" can show up in the research dialog box, but are disabled and can not be researched. This was intentional in case you didn't realize an item could be researched and marked it for something else. This way you'll see it in the research window.Auto-Marks
Provisioning Station - Items with marks other than "Save for Provisioning" can still show up in the recipe list. This was necessary or else the game would automatically hide the recipes. But the crafting station will tell you you don't have enough materials to craft the recipe (the craft option will not be available).
There are three options that allow you to choose if you wish Researchable items, Ornate Items, & Intricate items to be marked automatically when you pick up a new item. It will only automatically marks NEW items you pick up. This is so you can choose to unmark or change the marks on them if you wish.
There is also an option that allows you to set a keybind to automark items already in your inventory. It works on the backpack, bank, & guild bank. The inventory must be open when you press the hotkey. WARNING: If an item meets the criteria for an auto-mark and already has a mark on it, that mark will be overwritten with the auto-mark.
Protection
When an item is marked it will not show up in other windows. So as an example, if an item was marked for improvement a user could not manually sell it to the vendor, mail it, trade it, deconstruct it, exc... It would not be visible for selection in any other windows. The destroy option is removed from the right click context menu for items that are marked & you can not drag them to the main window to destroy them.
It also has code built in to help protect marked items from other addons (scroll down to read details about what it protects against). The code is there to prevent other addons from deconstructing, selling, mailing, exc... items that you have marked for something else.
HOWEVER, IF YOUR USING AN ADDON THAT AUTOMATICALLY DESTROYS, DECONSTRUCTS, SELLS, EXC.. ITEMS CONSULT THAT ADDONS DEVELOPER TO SEE IF THE MARKED ITEMS WILL BE SAFE. I did my best to protect items, but there could always be something I did not think of.

If one of these actions is attempted on a marked item a ZO_Alert message will be played to the user & the action will fail for that item. If it is an action on multiple items like SellAllJunk() it will not interrupt the selling process, it will only prevent the marked items from being sold. All other non-marked junk items will still get sold.

If your unsure of what filters you may have (from other addons installed) it could cause problems because you may not realize what filters are turned on or off. I had this happen once where someone thought my filters were broke because they had another addon installed that was also using filters and they did not know it. What I mean by that is if another addon had, as an example, a weapons filter and it was turned ON, it would hide everything except weapons in your inventory....but then you turned on one of my filters to show only armor. Which would hide everything that isn't armor...You wouldn't see anything in the list because the other addons filter would be hiding the armor and my filter would be hiding the weapons (and they'de both be hiding everything else). But its not a conflict, its actually the addons working together. So that any addon could build its own filters to narrow down the list of visible items if it needs to. So if for any reason things don't seem to show up like they are supposed to I would look for other filters that might be turned on in another addon.

Wow!
How have I not seen this addon before?
Dude, it looks amazing! I'm grabbing it now. Can I ask a nube question - I have the basic filters which at this point I don't know if they are built in or a mod. But, are there any addon conflicts I should be aware of because I really want to use this addon when I play tonight. Seriously nice job! -d ps: I saw your shout out to Tony for his help. I couldn't agree more! He's a huge asset to all us authors! .

FilterIt does not run code during the single slot update when changing horses & "now" (I just changed it) its inventory row hooks no longer runs any code when you change horses either. I only glanced at those other addons you mentioned, but it looks like they are doing the same thing.

I uploaded a new version that will just hide the item if it is marked for anything other than research instead of disabling that row. Its not the ideal solution I'de like, but work is very busy for the next couple of days & I couldn't think of a quick/easy solution, but to prevent users from having problems until I can find a better solution I applied a temporary fix. For now items with a mark other than "save for research" will just be hidden & not show up in the dialog box, instead of disabling the rows. The hidden state for each button gets reset to false every time ZO_Dialogs_ShowDialog is called so that shouldn't cause any problems. I will look for a better solution as soon as I get a chance, but for now at least it should prevent people from having problems. |

Compatibility issues
Be aware of the following:
There is a CTD error when switching to a horse with a smaller carrying capacity. I have narrowed this error down to three addons and the compatibility between them. FilterIt 1.46 is compatible with ItemSaver 1.1.3.0 and Awesome Guild Store 0.16 FilterIt 1.46 is compatible with ItemSaver 1.2.0.0 and Awesome Guild Store 0.18 FilterIt 1.57 is NOT compatible with ItemSaver 1.2.0.0 and Awesome Guild Store 0.18 I am putting a copy of this post in the comment sections of all three addons. Of course all of you will probably wonder why I use all three. I am insane. I use upwards of 68 addons - each that does a specific task a specific way. While there appears to be tons and tons of redundancy in my addon profile, the truth is each addon is subtly unique and the unique features of each plays a role in how I manage my ESO experience. |

No its not caused by this addon. Its probably caused by an addon that processes EVENT_INVENTORY_SINGLE_SLOT_UPDATE that is running code on items that are not new items. This addon does use that event, but it only runs code on new items, so when you change horses this addon doesn't do anything during that event so its not the cause. If you switch between horses that have different pack sizes the game runs EVENT_INVENTORY_SINGLE_SLOT_UPDATE on every slot, which is why its so laggy when you switch between horses that change your carrying capacity (even if you don't have ANY addons installed). If an addon was running code on all items (instead of excluding items that are not new) it could cause a LOT of lag very quickly. It could cause a crash... Especially if you kept clicking on different horses switching back and forth ![]() Edit: And, its not any of my other addons either for the same reason. None of them process old items so they do nothing when you change your horse. Look for an addon that deals with your inventory or tracks items somehow...just not mine ![]()

Hi all,
first of all many compliments for this great addon and my thanks for your hard work! ![]() I'm having an issue with items that have the intricate trait, simply speaking if I press the key that I bound to the auto mark function, the addon doesn't recognise the intricate trait in the items and then doesn't mark them, the chat report too shows 0 for intricate items marked. Any clue? |

Duplicate Research Items
It's great to know if an item is needed for research, but it's also important to know if you have multiples of that item needed for research.
As an example, if I haven't yet researched a Precise Sword but I have five of them, there's no reason to keep stashing more in the bank. I could dcon or sell 4 of them and still have the one left for research. I'm not sure if it'd be possible to setup a filter for these duplicate research items, but it'd be very helpful. |

I allowed items with any mark to show up in the crafting research window in case you accidently marked an item to be saved, and didn't realize it was researchable. This way when you are at the crafting station you can see that it is researchable in case you want to change your mind & research it (you'de have to remove the mark first though or change the mark to "Save for Research"). I did block all marked items from being researched unless it is the "Save for Research" mark to protect them from accidently being researched if you were wanting to save it for something else. Items with the "Save for Research" are the only marked items that can be researched. Which is why it would not let you research it. Likewise all marks are protected from showing up in unwanted windows & from other addons doing something they are not supposed to with the item (like deconstructing an item marked with anything other than "Save for Deconstruction" mark). If an item has a mark on it then it will only show up in the: backpack, bank, guildbank, research dialog, and the window that corresponds to the type of mark on it. ** But you can only research marked items if it is the "Save for Research" mark. For example:
As for the other part, it "should" have re-enabled the buttons when you switched to an item that was not marked or marked with "Saved for Research". Thanks for letting me know about that bug, It has been fixed. FIXED: Version 1.55 Posted
