DESCRIPTION
This addon includes many camera features to enhance the game experience.
Gain total control and enjoy all the world using the camera settings you want depending on what you do.

BINDINGS

  • Camera preferred parameters: distance, field of view, and horizontal/vertical position. It overrides the regular camera settings.

  • 3 static cameras can be configured. Only works with keybindings.

  • Prevent any camera change on interactions : talking to NPCs, using craft stations, lockpicking, reading, siege.
    That really is better for immersion not to change the camera on each interaction! You can't imagine.
    For example, when you talk with someone, the camera won't focus on them.
    (I recommand to allow the camera change for “Stations”, anyway, that's strange to craft without moving.)
  • Use your own camera settings when in interactions.

  • Automatically change any of your camera settings when "events" occur: chatting, mounting, in stealth, wielding weapons, in combat, in werewolf form.
  • *NEW* “On movement” event has been added, camera feels more dynamic that ever!

So, I enabled debug logging, and I noted that it was indeed picking up the events even after the event failed to trigger the camera change.

Here's my observation: It has to do with the Mount event + first person mode. As soon as I disabled that event trigger, everything worked without a hitch.

I've seen this in the past with other addons. I used to use a first person mount addon, and separately, an addon that flicks you into third person mode during combat.

When riding (in first person), if I entered combat, it wouldn't trigger the change to third person.

Ok, so… after some investigation, I'm able to reproduce the issue :
I've got no issue with the “Ride on” event, but somehow the “Ride off” event is not triggered.
This happens only when using a 1st person cam for the ride, it seems to be ok when staying in 3rd person.
Funny thing is that if you try to crouch while on mount, it will trigger the “Ride off” correctly.

I'll be looking into it.

I found exactly what was the issue :
When riding in 1st person, it takes some time (~500ms) to unmount.
Why? Because it waits for the horse to disappear before the game sends the “not mouting” state.
In third person, it send the “not mounting” state as soon as we press the key to unmount.
As this seems to be game-related, I can't do anything about that delay.
Using the crouch key triggers the unmount immediatly, but might break immersion a little.
( If you consider that a horse appearing and disappearing doesn't break the immersion… )

So now, i'm investigating 2 different solutions:
- Waiting for the correct feedback from the game (with the ~500ms delay if in 1st person),
- Ignoring the game feedback, trigger the camera change immediatly, and hope it doesn't break anything…

Sneak to invisibility: "Stealthy" gets stuck

Hi,

Leaving the "hidden" state of Shadowstrike (120 CP passive of The Shadow constellation) doesn't return the previous state of Stealthy event-driven camera change if you enter Shadowstrike from Sneak.
I have -60 vertical position with 0ms restore delay on Stealthy and triggering Shadowstrike [skill id: 64244] from Sneak makes it stuck on Stealthy camera. It doesn't reset back to previous camera (I have restore to preferred camera OFF). It doesn't reset even if I go into Sneak and leave.
This only happens if I go to Sneak and then get invisibility and leave invisibility.
If I enter invisibility from detected status then leave invisibility, it leaves Stealthy camera.
I think it bugs out because both Sneak and invisibility are "stealthy" and I'm entering invisibility from Sneak.

I think what happens is both Sneak and Invisibility are counted as Stealthy, and since I have restore Preferred OFF, it returns to the "Stealthy" state of Sneak when the Invisibility wears off. If restore Preferred is ON, it works correctly.
This is what happens:
1. crouch
2. heavy attack kill enemy which puts me into invisibility before it could return to the previous non-Stealthy camera
3. invisibility wears off and it puts me into the previous camera, which was the Stealthy camera from crouching

Managed to recreate it with invisibility potion:
1. crouch
2. exit crouch and before it could go back to previous camera quickly use invisibility potion
3. wait for it to wear off, when it wears off, it goes "back" to Stealthy (so basically stays in it) since I was in Stealthy beforehand (because of crouching)

A solution to this would be if you could differentiate between crouch stealthy and invisible stealthy but I highly doubt the game makes a difference between them.

So…
After chatting and testing,

I've added a ridiculously small delay by default before triggerring the "stealth off" event (even if you set the delay to 0 in the options).
Because it seems that when your character state changes from "stealthy" to "invisible", there is a moment in between where it triggers the "normal" state.
This should correct the issue for the few cases that were described, but let me know if anything…

This correction is in 2.4.2.

Recent Searches panel missing from guild vendor.

Hello. After setting Prevent Default Camera Change to On under Chatting, the Recent Searches panel no longer appears in the guild vendors. Did I set something incorrectly? Thank you.

Hey Jhenox,

It's working fine for me. Here's a proof, on my screen:


But... I remember someone already talked to me about that issue a loooong time ago…
In the end, it was because another addon (can't remember which one) was "altering" the chat event.
( I should have put a note on my addon description page to warn about that "issue". )

If you're going to investigate (I'm sure you'll do ),
please tell me which addon is not "compatible" with NTak Camera, and I'll finally add a note on the description page.

Did you do that testing when the recent searches panel was already removed, or when it was back ?
I mean… I think that if you do restore the panel ( by using the default chat cam. and by chatting with a guild trader ), and only after that you try only with NTak'Camera, there should be no problem.

Hello. I tried again. I deleted NTakCamera.lua then I loaded only NTak Camera with the required LibAddonMenu-2.0. I use a guild vendor and the Recent Searches window appears. I then change only the 'Chatting/Prevent default camera change' to On. The Recent Searches window no longer appears in the guild vendor and doing new searches does not make it appear. If I change 'Chatting/Prevent default camera change' back to Off then the Recent Searches window appears again.

Does it work for you because you aren't using default settings or maybe it is working along with another addon that I don't have installed like NTak Dialog or Master Merchant? Thank you for your help.

I think it is NTak Dialog that allows it to work. Once I installed that then the panel appears when in 3rd person.

How do I open the settings for this mod?

The mod itself works, but unfortunately it resets my camera settings everytime I relog. I know this is working as intended, but how do I edit the settings of this mod? Is there any secret /command?

Under settings > addons this mod doesn't show up. LibAddonMenu-2.0 is installed.

Sorry to hear about that.
But, I don't experience any issue with the addon menu.
Do you have an error message or something ?

Hey,

Do you think it would be possible to add 'bank', 'store', 'tradinghouse' scenes to the interaction cameras? I like to look around sometimes while I'm browsing a kiosk for a longer time and it keeps loading multiple "pages" of results (with AGS). Currently the only way to do this is by switching to a static camera first then interacting with the trader NPC or by using the Chatting option but I like to use the default first person camera setting for dialogues, so that's not the best.
