AI Research Grid - Unofficial FoA Update  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 11.5.1
by: anufi [More]
This is just AI Research Grid (can find the original addon here)

Please uninstall the original version before installing this one. Having both might just break everything since i didn't modify any addon metadata, binds, or slash commands

I've updated the list of motifs to include the following:
Greymoor
Sea Giant
Ancestral Reach
Arkthzand
Thorn Legion
Hazardous Alchemy
Wayward Guardian
Nighthollow

Full credit goes to the original creator of this addon, AssemblerManiac, I'm just adding some missing stuff

Question Style Names

Could we please get a pop-up on the style page to show which style is which? There are a lot of them, and I cannot always remember which is which.

well, the addon was nicely done from the beginning, what I did was just to discover what styleIDs the new motifs have and just added them and the achievement IDs at the end of two lists ^^ the old code took care of the rest
for more advanced updates or features I might not have the required lua expertise to do that

Oh absolutely right! I didn't mean to imply that you needed to correct the API version number and push out a new version. I merely meant to point it out so that you could add it to your to-do list for the next version. Quite a few ESO addons now use the double API version numbering of current + next, so using the "## APIVersion: 100034 100035" format would mean the addon wouldn't be flagged as out-of-date for the current and next game versions.

Anywho, I did say I'd pop back and update on how my testing went. Very happy to say that I didn't have a single problem. I always delete the previous version before installing a new version, along with always manually installing all addons, so maybe that helped avoid any potential issues. Once I logged in-game there were no errors, opened up the grid and all the data for the character was displayed and all 17 of my other characters were selectable without any problems.

Simply put, this is a nice, clean and straight forward update to AI Research Grid. If anyone is thinking this might be a "replacement" then rest assured it isn't. Just leave your AIResearchGrid.lua in the SavedVariables folder and everything just continues working seamlessly, so no need to be worried about having to start over or anything like that.

Thank you very much for adding this so that those of us still using AI Research Grid can continue to do so! Downloaded and took a quick look at the AIResearchGrid.txt file to see if the API version number(s) were correct. Looks like you've added the current API version number while retaining the older one so the line is showing as:
## APIVersion: 100032 100034

It would be best if that was changed to either:
## APIVersion: 100034

or maybe:
## APIVersion: 100034 100035

Other than that, I'll get to testing it on all my characters. I'll pop back later to update on how well (or badly) it goes!
