JunkBuster  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.91
by: ADH, Atoom
Now compatible with 8.2.0 Firesong!

This addon provides a rule-based system to put items in your junk bag or destroy them

Unlike the other automatic junking addons, JunkBuster allows you to filter items by any combination of the following criteria:
  • Name
  • Item Type
  • (Specialized) Item Type
  • Equipment slot
  • Weapon/Armor type
  • Level
  • Price
  • Quality
  • Trait
  • Actor type (Player or Companion)
  • Item is crafted or not
  • Item is stolen or not
  • Item has a set bonus or not
  • Recipee is known or not

For example, you can set it to only junk the ingredients you loot that have 0g price value, or the normal quality (white) stolen treasures (but not the green ones).

Other Features:
  • The addon can automatically sell junked items to a merchant (not stolen items) or a fence (stolen items) when visiting them
  • You can add exemption rules that save and unjunk any special item that you want skipped by junkBuster
  • You can add rules to DESTROY items upon looting
Warning: Be very careful with the destroy option. Destroyed items CAN NOT be returned.

The screenshots show some sample rules that I use when playing.
There is an extended logging option available which provides the info for every looted item in the chatbox so you can fine-tune or make new junking rules.

Planned future additions:
  • Allow <=, >=, == selections for item quality
  • Add support for FCO Item Saver
  • Allow addon to apply rules to (guild) bank too?

Update v1.86 released!

Thanks for both of your reports! It was a change in the eso addon API, devs removed a item type.

Thank you for the quick fix! JB has become one of my "absolute must have" addons.

I seem to remember having that option in the past, but maybe that was a different addon.
JunkBuster doesn't have this. But I'll look into it in a future update (depending on my time ). Not sure if i can offer per stack or just per item count, will have to investigate.
The option to only junk items that exceed one stack in the bank, crafting bag, and backpack would be awesome. It would make sorting and saving crafting materials so much easier. I love using this addon and it's the only feature missing when compared to others like dustman in my opinion. Thanks for continuing to support it

Ornate items no longer autosold to vendor.

Greets.

Recently (2 weeks or so) I noticed that JB isn't selling my ornate armor/jewelry/weapons when I log into a vendor, anymore. I have to manually click on each to sell them.
I've specifically noticed these ornate items are the ones obtained from daily writs while trying to do housekeeping immediately after turning the writs in. JB has this same issue on 18 toons on my account.

The three ornate rules are:
Junk any item with trait armor ornate.
Junk any item with trait weapon ornate.
Junk any item with trait jewelry ornate.

All 3 'automatic junk sale' options are turned on.

I'm using version 1.86.
I get no errors or notifications.
The rules list I have has been working great and unchanged for the while I've been using it (I guess around 2 years now.)

Does anyone have a suggestion about what might be causing these 3 rules to be ignored?

Are those items added to your junk item tab once you pick them up? If not the issue is with the rules / something with those traits changed. The automatic sale simply sells every item that is currently marked as junk (displayed in the junk tab) regardless if this mark was added by the addon or manually by using the stock game option in the items context menu. Only difference is that stolen junk is sold to fences, and the rest to normal merchants.
If those items aren't even added to the junk tab any more, you could also enable all reporting on picked up items and check how those items are classified once they're looted. If something looks wrong there, please post a screenshot showing the looted message for this item, and one containing your complete rule list.

Jewelry

Hi, I'm setting up the rules for your mod, and I want to add a rule to mark as junk all Fine quality Companion Jewelry. However, You do not have an Item Type for Jewelry, despite having item types for Jewelry Materials/Glyphs/Platings/Traits.

Jewellry items have just like clothing the item type armor. Not my decision, it's the way eso works . Other item types or properties (for example platings / glyphs / traits) are separate item types. You can filter jewellry out from other armor by including the equipment slot in the rule, namely "Neck" and "Ring".
You can check what the "true" item type of an item is by passing its item link (right click -> item link to chat) to the chat command /jbil . It will show several properties of the item as they are in the eso addon api, which might differ from what the normal tooltip shows on mouseover which is a combination of mutltiple properties of the item.

Rules being ignored/can't unjunk items

So I'm having trouble with specifically Crown Tri-Restoration Potions getting junked despite having rule number 2 being "Keep any potion with 'Crown Tri-Restoration' in its name." and instead listening to rule number 30 for junking all potions (to get rid of the regular health/magicka/stamina potions that drop). Thing is that I tried removing rule 30 and even adding a "Keep all potions" rule to "reset" the potions' junk markers by putting them into the bank and taking them back out but it's not working. Does the addon not check for new items entering the inventory from banks and such? And why is it skipping rules?

It's not about the spelling or anything because it's worked most of the time, but then it still junks potions picked up through the daily reward system (again, skipping past one or more of the rules near the top of my list), which is when it starts to act up like this.

I'd need to see the complete rule list to judge why it appears to skip those potions. Screenshot would do

However, yes the mod only looks at items (or the stacks they get added too) that you pick up new from vendors, crafting, loot, etc. It doesn't affect bank transfers. This is because the API event Junkbuster reacts to is only triggered for those "newly" added items. ( EVENT_INVENTORY_SINGLE_SLOT_UPDATE ). I like it this way too, because it prevents broken delete rules from accidentally destroying items you already have (would be possible if i'd match the rules directly against everything in your inventory, not just inventory "slots" reported by this event).

Sorry for the slow reply, that's interesting that it's got different triggers for "brand new" items though. Would it be possible to add something to manually unjunk items? A command or anything? Because as it is right now I've got hundreds of my tri-pots that are unjustly marked as junk and no way to undo it other than deleting them.

Here's a screenshot of the setup that somehow skips the "first match" rule:
Warning: Spoiler

I placed the last rules at the bottom to make sure that high quality treasure gets junked and sold.

I placed the last rules at the bottom to make sure that high quality treasure gets junked and sold.
Junk buster uses the normal built in junk makring eso already has for inventory items. so to remove an item (stack) from junk tab, just right click on it and select "Unmark as junk". (this won't stop any JB rules from marking it again if a new item is picked up and added to the stack though).

The keep rules at the bottom might react slightly wonky. On one hand the result is similar to if they weren't there at all -> items where rule match reaches at least rule 26 will not be junked or deleted. However it will also cause said item (stacks) to be unjunked if they were for some reason marked as junk before (manually via the context menu, or some other addon setting the junk status).

Otherwise to completely diagnose why it for some reason crown potions aren't sold i'd need similar extra data from you as from Neverlands:
Could you enable all "reporting" options in JB settings, also check if "Perfrom keep and unjunk" is enabled under "looting", and post screen of chat message when a potion is wrongly junked?
(if possible also include output of the chat command "/jbil <Item link>" for that item. Thank you! )

Another test would be if you could change the Name for the potion rules. Eg. shorten it to just "Crown" or "Tri-Rest" or something. in case either there is a typo or there is something wonky in the item name or my name matching

JunkBuster ingnores my companion rule (German client):

Hmm, could you enable all reporting options in JB settings, and post screen of chat message when item is wrongly ignored?
(if possible also include output of the chat command "/jbil <Item link>" for that item. Thank you!
Hello Atoom,
I will do that! Until now no further companion items dropped.. but all reporting options are enabled for any case
