Automatically Accept Quests  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.23
by: marlonbrando [More]
Adds an extra option to quest providers which will cause future visits to be automatically accepted with one click. Quest turn-ins will also be one-click.

This add-on requires the separate installation of these libraries:
  • LibAddonMenu-2.0
  • LibChatMessage
  • LibDebugLogger

A dream that comes true ... A long time I wish an addon like this.
I have not tested it yet, but if it does not already exist, could you please include an option to automatically accept (and turn-in) each and every quest? This would be great for alts since I've done the whole story with my main char.

Thank you.

You mean just automatically accept any quest that you click on and turn it in automatically? If so, sure. I'll do that in the next release.

Yes, exactly that.
Thank you.

It won't be perfect because, for some quests, you have to make choices. I'm not sure if it's possible to detect those although I guess a "always accept first choice" is possible.

Well, the scenario I imagined is something like this:
  • I have already done the whole story with my main character and I am no longer interested in reading all the texts of each quest again;
  • doing quests is still a good method to gain experience, but for this to be really effective the ideal would be to fulfill each quest as fast as possible;

so yes, automatically selecting the first option in the quest dialog seems reasonable to me.

But to cover all possible uses of this feature, why not create a setting and let the player choose whether he really wants to play that way or let himself make the choices of each quest (when they exist) and automatically accept all others more "simple" quests?

I hope I have been able to explain it clearly.

Yep. I was thinking along the same lines. I'm sure there will be cases that won't be manageable with those rules but maybe that will get most of them.

Question: how do you disable it for a specific quest?

Like, for example, I'd like to start manually accepting a quest from a certain quest that I activated "accept this quest automatically" before; how do I disable it (i.e. "accept this quest automatically") so that I can just manually do it from then on?

I would love this though; it'd be great for the repeatable quests from the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood.

Nice work! I was just looking into the possibility of creating an add-on to automatically accept master writ quests, and turn them in to Rollis Hlaalu, and I found your addon.

Would it be possible to get this working for the dialog that pops up when you activate a master writ? The dialog is basically identical to the PVP mission board dialog in your screenshot: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2KCfRbFAAKqbYrZM9

I tried removing your "writ" filter code but that doesn't seem to be the issue, it just doesn't seem to fire the EVENT_CHATTER_BEGIN event that you are hooking.

I don't do writs very often. Seems like this would be difficult to test., though I'd have to go through multiple writs.

Doesn't Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter already do this and much more?

That's a big limitation right now. There is no way to do this short of editing the AAQ.lua file in the SavedVariables folder. I need to add an interface to clear this.

Hey, just chiming in about this. Writ Crafter doesn't actually accept Master Writ quests; I deemed it too risky a feature to add.

As far as testing it goes, PTS template characters are your friend. There's boxes full of master writs there.

Yep, PTS is great for this. But let me know if you want to look into this on live. If you are on the NA server, I can send you a few master writs for testing purposes. Just send me your @ name.

I noticed one issue with this AddOn: It prevents you from using the mouse to click on the third bank option (guild store, in my case) because that pops up the "do you want to automatically accept this quest" dialogue ^^; and whether you hit 'yes' or 'no' it just happens over and over again.
Got around it by using my set hotkey for 'third dialogue option', and as this AddOn works for daily quests but apparently not daily writ quests (which was what I wanted xD) I've decided to go for another AddOn instead, but I thought you might want to look into that potential issue.

Thanks for reporting this. I noticed the problem myself and had a fix sitting in my sandbox but forgot to release it. Doh. There is a new version now.

I specifically excluded writs from this addon because I use Daily Writ Creator. I actually got the inspiration for this addon from the way it handles writ acceptance.

I know you've moved on to another addon but, if it isn't too much trouble, I would appreciate knowing if the fix that I just uploaded actually solves your problem. No problem if you'd rather not bother.
