I've retired from ESO and I am relying on code contributions for maintenance: GitHub Repo

A continuation of Atropos' Foundry Tactical Combat. This is an updated version of Demiknight's patch. The change log has more info, main changes below:

Added the option to show @names in place of character names when in a group (shown in the attached image) or when targeting someone.

Added a keybind for refreshing the group frame. Despite the addon's attempts to the contrary, sometimes it will fail to load a group member(s). This will force an unobtrusive refresh so that you don't have to /reloadui to fix it.

Added the ability to disable healing logs/text out of combat or at all times. Individual options for combat log and scrolling text.

Solinur updated buff tracking.

Test with the version at that link. Make sure you unzip that and copy the subfolder FoundryTacticalCombat to Addons. Don't overwrite the old folder please.

Don't worry about getting back to me at a certain time or making an effort to get people to group with you to test that. Just play like you would normally. Please try to play without using the keybind to update the group. I don't do that and I just let the game do its thing. I just looked after I posted this and what a previous contributor used for the refresh is probably overkill.

As you are doing things, what are you doing? Speed run solo in X dungeon and two people are fishing. 3 People in group and you have two companions showing but you are in combat and they aren't. Just so I can see if I can get it to happen for me. Because I have been trying to test several things and I'm not really getting any errors.

Just remember, it's not class specific. Nothing where you have 3 Arcanists and it is fine. Then with 2 or 4 it isn't. There is nothing about the mod that cares about the class except when getting the class icon for the unit frame.

You would have to explain exactly how this happens and possibly change settings to see if you disable/enable something that causes this. I have not seen that error at all. I have been playing solely on my Arcanist because I am leveling it.

Make sure you get the current version though because if you don't any new error will not match line numbers.
So, I do have the current version, downloaded it JUST before replying, and am still getting the same error as well as not being able to change any addon setting at all. I even tried making a new Arcanist, same thing. Went to a toon where the addon works properly and reset all of FTC and still have the error screen. this is my screen upon UI reload.

That is a little different. It's simply how the game works.

I had put in a post earlier some of the unit identifiers for example group1, group2, group1companion, and group2companion.

They are used with ZOS functions to check if the unit exists which is a misleading name. The unit identifiers might be valid in the sense that because the max group size is 12 you can have from group1 to group12 as a valid identifier. If it exists and if it is in range is dependent on the server.

So similar to the error you already reported I have to check the following

* identifiers (group1, group1companion)
* does it exist (dependent on range, zone, etc)
* is the unit in range

After all that is done then I can get the health, if the unit is dead, or whatever. If I don't players will have a similar error to what you already reported.

So the group size will change depending on how close you are to a player and whether or not the player has the companion summoned. Likewise if you are a certain distance from the player their companion may show up but walk a little further and it won't. Run towards them and it will show up again.

It's how the game works but because of how the game works is why I made that design choice. I don't want to gray it out and change the color and just leave it there. Because I can't get any information from the server about the unit anyway.

I also made that choice because if you're in a group with ten people then you can only have two companions since the max is 12. So I only want to display what the server is reporting as valid units as it decides what to do with each player and companion.

I updated some of the functionality even though as I mentioned it's not really adding Acracist support. I'm simply using more of the current functions from ZOS. Then I added companion support. I'm not the original author and I don't know much about the inner workings. However, I can look into something else if you have noticed anything.

Because to a programmer, "about no" can mean none or "well there is this other thing" so if you noticed something else let me know.

Or another thing is provide a LibDebugLogger link from the author's website. https://sir.insidi.at/or/logviewer/ which is more helpful really then providing the error itself.
I'll keep that in mind and will do, although I do have some odd, but not determneal behaviour to report since the last update ya pushed, if you can't be bothered to fix it then no worries, just thought you should at least know

if I join a group where somebody has a companion active said companion is listed in the group window as if they were a player but only if I am in the same zone as them, sub instances such as delves and public dungons do not display the companion, it gives no error messages, also the group refresh hotkey works like a dream

Again, not going "ahhh fix it fix it fix it fix it" and instead going "hmm, that's intresting, should let them know just incase somebody else complains"

Yeah it did help, after some testin about no errors in any group comp containing any number of arcanists, including 4 arcanists in a group via group finder.

Did the update help? Regardless of class can you join a group using the dungeon finder without errors? Watch for the error especially when it's just you, or when you and someone else are joining 2 other people. Let me know if it's still happening.

errors?

Since the update for the addon came out today, every time I join a group via the group finder that contains more than 2 arcanists, including myself, I get slapped with the following errors

You would have to explain exactly how this happens and possibly change settings to see if you disable/enable something that causes this. I have not seen that error at all. I have been playing solely on my Arcanist because I am leveling it.

Make sure you get the current version though because if you don't any new error will not match line numbers.

FTC error text

So, i am having issues with FTC at the moment. it was working just fine last week and I even tried deleting what I had and redownload it and its dependencies. this is the error message that I get.
Edit: worked for my Necro and Templar but not the Arcanist class
