Rive Mouse mods
Version: 0.03
by: tiomun [More]
I will not be developing Rive Mouse Mod any more for now. The most recent update has damaged the functionality of this addon, and I have not had the time to put into debugging issues or updating to the new libaddon controls like I want to. Feel free to download and use this code in your own projects.

Rive mouse mod

Combat Reticle: Changes to the color of your choosing when you are under attack. Also doubles reticle size.

Reticle Color: Allows you to set a custom color to your reticle while not in combat. Can greatly improve visibility of the reticle.

Auto Mouse: Free's the mouse cursor when you are idle. While Auto cursor is active you can right click to enter free look mode. (Has keybinding)

Auto Sheathe: Will sheathe your weapon when you leave combat. If you continue to swing your weapon after leaving combat you will not auto sheathe. Does not interfere with typical drawn/sheathe usage.

The entire addon has a on/off keybinding option and a keybinding for just the Auto Cursor to allow for on the fly disabling. All other options are in the settings panel.

Please email: [email protected] or comment with any bugs or suggestions.

Sorry for the delay

Sorry for the delay in updating. Had a few months where I wasn't able to even sign in to the game, more or less update the addon.

Your welcome.

The number isn't a direct reflection of the size. Just the size setting its adjusted for. The slider didn't like to show decimal changes live, so setting it for whole numbers was the easiest workaround.

Thank you for all the input. The timer idea allowed me to come up with a improved way of dealing with the combat events. basically a delay then a double check before executed the functions.

I initially created this addon to allow for faster programming. I have a dual monitor setup so having the mouse break free simplified jumping to the second screen to make edits. One day I was bored and started adding in some other features like the reticle and auto sheathe. Since it already checked for the combat event it wasn't a big deal to add them in. It all seemed to work well so I published the addon. I'm very pleased with how many downloads it has gotten and the positive feedback.

I don't know if I am going to do a stand alone version of the auto sheathe. I can see the value of having it simpler, but the addon settings are account wide so once you've made the adjustment of turning the couple of other features off you don't have to worry about it on other toons. besides key-bindings anyways. still a possibility. depends on how much time I have. I am also working on other addons for the user interface, and they are far more complex and time consuming, but sometimes its nice to have a change of pace.

Feedback: I think you should add time before the Auto-sheath occurs. Most cases in the killing swing, the character will sheath its weapon even before the mob starts its death animation (very odd looking). I think 3-5 secs out of combat would be a sweet spot (maybe have a option on delay time).

The spam text in chat "Sheath occured" and other messages are kinda annoying. Could a option to silence them be added?

Over all a wonderful mod which I'll be using ^_-
I plan to remove the spam text. I didn't think it would be bad, and it wasn't during testing but as I went out and actually started questing it became annoying. But hey for now it hides all the buy gold messages quickly lol

as for a standalone, maybe. it shouldn't be too hard to do that.

I was thinking of adding a option to alow user size changes to the reticle. I will work on it for the next update.

Also no offense taken. I know this addon offers things that not everyone wants enabled but others might.
That would be awesome. I will also help you by testing your addon out to see if it doesnt want to play well with other reticle addons i use.

Feedback. The double reticle doesnt seem to work part of the time. I am not using any of my other reticle addons ether.

I see you are just checking if moving, in combat, in siege and the UI isn't active and then it releases. You might want to add in a whole timer routine to release after all of those have been false AND the designated time has elapse.

Just a suggestion.
Currently the buffer acts as a sort of timer, but I will add in a specific timer just for the mouse release. I have had the while mounted issue a few times but though I adjusted the buffer speed enough to compensate. A dedicated timer is probably the best option.
