Why is that?
All addons do this to check if other addons are active. And it's a global variable to be accessed as a kind of API as well.
If you put it to your OptionalDependsOn list, or even without this addition, all you need to do is check if the main addon's global var is not nil.
If it's nil: Do nothing.

With your addon enabled the top level control (tlc) of the addon is invisble but in the center of the screen somewhere and you cannot see the tooltip of skills, or drag&drop skills, where your tlc is positioned, if you open the skills menu.

pChat registers a chat format handler to the Friends Status Changed event. You need to disable this chat handler.
The updated version now also provides a setting for all system messages.
If you disable this all sys messages should not be touched by pChat.
But other libraries like LibChatMessage and LiBDebugLogger will still touch...

It will not show the system addon messages in chat AND DebugLogViewer, but ONLY in DebugLogViewer if this addon is enabled.
But this is absoluetly normal! LibDebugLogger and DebugLogViewer are "debug" tools so they grab the info to store it in the SavedVariab...
