Hi Baertram,
Just wanted to let you know, I also experienced the same "empty settings" issue.
That happened when opening it manually via ESC key. It was empty, except title, version, author and website link. But the description of what it does and the rest of it was not shown.
Now I installed LibAddonMenu-2.0 r26 and it works now....

One more thing:
If you have problems using addons disable them! Simple.
If you do not want to help finding errors by disabling all other addons and do test on your local setup, your choice....
