Elemental Drain timer resets on Pierce Armor

When I apply Elemental Drain and afterwards Pierce Armor after there's 15s or less, of Elemental Drain left, the Ele Drain timer resets to 0. Is there a way to change this? Also, would it be possible to keep the timer for Powerful Assault after using Resolving Vigor? As PA lasts 10s, but Vigor only 4, and it shows the 4s timer. A...
