This is weird, so why isn't this happening for me then? Are you using the keyboard or a gamepad in gamepad mode?

I have been noticing the same thing as ryebreadmike.
I did all the same things they did to try and find or fix the issue and even went a step further by uninstalling and reinstalling the game and I did not get any better results than they did.
