Everywhere I have seen, the background of everything is nice and dark. I matched my settings with someone else's who looked different and mine didn't change. My addon has transparent backgrounds and I hate it because it's hard to read text sometimes. How do I add the black background?

Howdy! Not sure if I missed it somewhere or not. I cannot access the automated messages popup anymore. I've bound it to a key, I've switched that key about 12 times now. Hitting said key will not bring up the popup window. There is no error for me to post or anything. It just....doesn't do anything. I've reinstalled the addon as well...

With your addon enabled the top level control (tlc) of the addon is invisble but in the center of the screen somewhere and you cannot see the tooltip of skills, or drag&drop skills, where your tlc is positioned, if you open the skills menu.
Please make the tlc hide if menus are opened!

pChat registers a chat format handler to the Friends Status Changed event. You need to disable this chat handler.
The updated version now also provides a setting for all system messages.
If you disable this all sys messages should not be touched by pChat.
But other libraries like LibChatMessage and LiBDebugLogger will still touch...

yes but without timestamp and only in Logciewer not in the normal chat.
It will not show the system addon messages in chat AND DebugLogViewer, but ONLY in DebugLogViewer if this addon is enabled.
But this is absoluetly normal! LibDebugLogger and DebugLogViewer are "debug" tools so they grab the info to store it in the SavedVariab...

The files were split into several files.
I'll add a setting for this I guess so you can disable it via the setting + reloadui.

Good morning! Since yesterday's update my chat always starts in zone chat, even though I chose another tab. In settings it still says the correct tab.
I turned off all other addons and libs, same problem. Even when I switch into another chat tab, as soon as I log out and in again it goes back to the first tab, which is zone chat....

Needed dependency (providing the link to the lib at best)
so the users know that they need to install the lib ;)
And if you define a local variable it shouldn't have the same name as the global variable, to avoid problems.
Else you could also just use the glob...

The same problem was mentioned with other addons or libraries enabled like "Social Indicators".
Please make sure to update old addons and dependencies AND test WITH ONLY pChat enabled.
Disable all other libraries and addons. Delete libraries like libChat, libChat2 or libChat3.

As I had written to you before I'd start to create unique identifiers for the location data so you can strip all the redundant translatable texts in there and just tranmslate the text ONCE. In your file you would use something like this then:
