The goal is to force authors to stop using it so users can stop installing it, especially since it is no longer going to be updated. It's better to make active authors get off of it and employ community fixes for unmaintained addons that still work.

I'll probably be able to take a look later today. Could you try with all other addons (except LAM and LBE) off. If there's still a problem: could you try some of the most basic recipes (low level greens) and if they don't work, I'll know of something we both have that I can test with.

If you have the newest version of both of those, then the addon should be able to load. You'd see this via it not being disabled in your addon list. Since you don't even have the slash command, it sounds disabled.

So if you use FCOIS and you have not marked something explicitly for research, would you expect to not be able to research it, even if you haven't marked it in any way at all? E.g. no research mark = always locked for research.
