Character / Guild Unique Ids
 

Hello everyone,

does anyone knows if the unique Id from ZO_SavedVars:NewCharacterIdSettings for characters and the Id from GetGuildId() for guilds are unique per megaserver or across all megaservers?

I ask this because I'm currently have this id marked as unique in my database and have to now if I need to add the megaserver short key to the unique key :)

Afaik they are only unique on each server (PTS, NA Megaserver, EU Megaserver) not across.
Btw: Does JP use it's own server or are they playing on the NA Megaserver?

All ids that identify a player or group of players are unique to a server. There is no cross server sharing. So a guild id of 37 on PC-NA is not the same guild as 37 on PC-EU. This applies to character ids, account ids, and guild ids.

Any chance we could get a function to return the actual account id of a player instead of the display name which can easily be changed via the account website?
Would be nice for saved vars, since they are not migrated when the account name changes. Some way to track name changes of guild members (at least for officer ranks) would be nice too, as addons tracking sales face the same issue. Maybe an entry in the guild history with the old and new name could be added?
