Most likely thats not the problem, Minion is multithreaded and does many things at once and what is shown in the loading progress is only a small portion of what is happening. We are working to have Minion not load the addon list from WOW if you have chosen to ignore that game but that is a extremely minor resource for Minion to handle.
I'm guessing its hanging on something in your minion.xml (a bad path, bad addon, etc) if you post your minion0.log & minion.xml I can confirm and let you know how to fix it.
PC:
C:\Users\<windows username>\.minion\
OSX
open a terminal window and type: open ~/.minion
Or if you just want to try deleting your minion.xml so it resets Minion that might fix it but can't say for sure with out seeing those 2 files first.
