Of course not always the best idea, but most of the time it solves seemingly unsolvable problems.
- Move the folder to the new location
- Open a command window with administrator permissions (win 7: start menu > enter "cmd" > right-click > run as administrator, win 8+: win+x > open administrator console or something like that)
- Enter "mklink /D <link> <target>" where link is the original location of the folder (c:\...) and target is where it is located now (d:\...)
Instead of using the command line you can also use this
little tool to make the link via context menu entries (pick link source; drop as > symbolic link).
