[Thieves Guild] Floating Combat Text API?

Has anyone looked into the Floating Combat Text on PTS? Will AddOns be able to mod it? I'd like to see icons next to the text and change the color of the Text to match the source of magic used.

I also want this! A simple addon that adds the appropriate skill icons besides the damage text to the left or right side.
